Error after installing Sims 3 + Expansions + Ultimate Fix on MAC OS (Snow Leopard)

Hello,

I have followed the guide for the ultimate fix to the letter:
- Installed game and expansions (had to use the manual patch before installing the newer ones)
- Updated using the manual patch for MAC 1.42 (again)
- Followed the steps in the guide for the ultimate fix.

After starting the Sims Launcher and clicking to launch the game, the game seems to go ahead for a few seconds and then I get the following error:
Unable to start game
Service initialization failed (0x039e8474)

Any ideas?

Is the manual patch 1.42 incompatible with the ultimate fix currently available for MAC? Or maybe should I download the base game and older expansions anew (I downloaded them from G4TW more than a year ago.

To be honest the G4TW fixes have never worked for me and I have found the solutions in other forums/fixes. Is there something I am missing...?

What base game are you using? The Reloaded version is recommended (you can easily find it on TPB). After installing that, by itself, verify that it works, and then go through the rest of the installation process.

Also, do you have enough space to run your game?

I was installing today too and have the exact same error. I don't know if this is significant, but the manual patch ends in "019002" and the file EA games has that antiskub linked to ends in "019001"

My base game is ReLoaded and the expansions are all from games4theworld. I am running Snow Leopard 10.7.5.

The difference in that final digit of the version is the SKU, which doesn't matter as long as the base game and World Adventures (if installed) are the same - which may or may not be your issue. As for solving your specific issue, I haven't been on a Mac since the early 80s so I probably won't be of much help, sorry.

Ah, okay. I have a region 1 version of the game then. I'll redo the patching and then replace the cracked files and see if that helps. If not I need to re-download everything >_<
