Update Issue

Hi all.

For some reason, I'm unable to update my game. Every time I try to, it says "Unable to connect to Origin." I'm not sure what the problem is since I've had Origin all this time. I've been having some issues with the game that I know are due to the lack of update. Is there some sort of fix for it that I could try? If so, let me know. I don't know if I need a manual fix or if I just need to try to apply the old fix again. I'm not really sure what's wrong. Sad

I tried the manual patch, but it did nothing. I also tried the new fix, and that didn't do anything either. It just won't update. It keeps saying "Unable to Connect to Origin" every time. I'm not really sure what to do next.

Hello,

I think you're misunderstanding something.
Being unable to connect to Origin has nothing to do with this. You don't even need to have Origin installed to update your game with the launcher. That the update through the launcher usually results in an "invalid file found" has nothing to do with Origin, and everything with pirating (and especially cracking) the game.

The manual patch should be executed, that is to say, (double) clicked and it will start installing itself onto your game. After that, you simply copy the crack found inside the fix to your base game\bin and that's it, your game is up to date.

If you want to test whether this is true or not, you can open your launcher, dismiss the "unable to connect to Origin" message, and hover your mousepointer over the base game icon in the lower left corner of the launcher to see the base game version show up.

I know that Origin has nothing to do with pirated/cracked games. I don't even have Origin. I downloaded it over a year ago but got rid of it back then since I had no need for it. I know how to update the game. I know how to copy over the crack into the base game/bin. What I don't understand is why the crack isn't working and why, when I hit "refresh" after I try to update it, it says "unable to connect to Origin." It started doing this shortly after the last update. Not too long after, either. The update won't work no matter what I do. I did it multiple times, tried rebooting several times as well, and nothing.

But, you don't need the launcher at all. Not if you're using the manual patch. You don't need the entire fix either. Only the crack from the fix. You don't need any of the folders in the fix if you're using the manual patch.
If you've applied the manual patch, all you have to do is copy the files from the #crack folder in the fix to the base game bin. And then when you open the launcher, and it says "unable to connect to origin" that's fine, just dismiss the message and start the game. This message is compltely unrelated to the patch or the crack. I get it every time I open the launcher for anything.
