Saved Sims Deleted
Hello, I was previously running the Sims 3, I installed Sim 3 pets and Sims 3 master suite following the instructions on this website and everything seems to be working perfectly however my Sims have been deleted and my town 'Riverview' is also missing. I thought installing them would just be an add on and would not remove my town and sims. Is there anyway to get them back? Please help .. I wouldn't of installed the expansion packs if I knew I would lose my sims...

You shouldn't have lost anything by installing the expansions. However, it is always recommended to back up everything before doing any drastic changes. Riverview, and all other store objects, can be downloaded here. There isn't a way to get back your lost sims, that I know of, though.

Re: Saved Sims Deleted
Ok I have just looked and the sav. file still seems to be there! But for some reason no load option is showing up since i started the game after installing the exspansion packs. When i ran the game Riverview had dissapeared, would that have something to do with it not being able to load up? There are some of my original Sims in the Sim bin also, but families/homes created etc. are not there. Is there anyway to get the sav. file to run? Thanks
//EDIT
Thanks for the link Have reinstalled Riverview and some other one's!

Hello there,
When you go to this folder: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves , does any of the folders have a ".bad" extension?

Hello,
I'm not very sure about this specific problem, but you can try using the backed up save.
You can do so as follows:
1. Copy both the normal folder as the .backup one to an empty folder on your Desktop. This will be your backup, in case something goes wrong.
2. Now remove the normal folder from: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves\ ; you should now have the .backup one only.
3. Rename the .backup one and remove the ".backup" part from its folder name. Save it.
4. Restart your game and let us know the result.
Good luck!

Re: Saved Sims Deleted
Hello,
When you had just The Sims 3, you were on a different patch level than you are now. The Riverview you were using doesn't work with the current game version. I believe it has something to do with the way it was/is encrypted, which is why a newly downloaded Riverview will install.
Is your savegame recognized now? If it's not, you can try to decrap it using this.
This is really happening only because you were using Riverview and the old cracked sims3pack no longer works. Had you been playing Sunset Valley, your savegame would have been fine.
I hope decrapifying your savegame works. There's a guide included, but you may skip s3rc.exe. Note: Make a backup of your savegame before attempting this, and don't decrap the folder, decrap the file inside.
