Graphic issues

Well quite simply I installed all sims 3 games with expansions and stuff packs from the download site. Most everything went smooth except that when I load a town to begin playing, all spaces inbetween the available lots are completely blacked out. This has occured on just about evey town, including Moonlight Falls. Also I'm having problems changing the general settings on my game, due to that they don't save when I restart the game. I've a feeling the two issues are linked somehow, but I'm not sure. I've been working on torrenting, installing these games properly for about a week now trying to get them working and this seems like the last issue to overcome. Any help would be much appreciated from just about anyone.

Okay well this is not my pc so I overlooked the gfx drivers. However I did check and no updates were needed, also I keep getting a message saying unable to read graphics hardware when the Sims 3 is launched. Now before anyone thinks "Go buy a new gfx card tard!" you should know that this is a pc able to run games like Skyrim and Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion on maxed out graphic settings with little to no lag at all. The pc's specs are Win. 7 OS 64 bit. ATI Radeon HD graphics card, 9 GB ram and a AMD Phenom 2 X6 1090 processor. Also my mother owns an untorrented copy previously installed that worked fine. I first encountered the issue when installing Supernatural (All versions and expansions currently on the machine are torrents from the Games 4the world site).

The AMD website has an auto detect program that you install onto your PC. Tried it twice and it said both times that my drivers were up to date.

Edit: Just checked a third time to be sure and it's still coming up "Your device has the latest driver software installed"

I should also mention while installing the expansions using the ultimate fix, I had to prepatch the base game with the manual patch before installing the expansions, because the games would not install without an updated version of TS3.

I did that after I finished the installation, but for the sake of desperation I tried it again anyway and it did not work.

if so an you realy tryed everything than its you videocard is not good enuff an even if you have a suported card like i had you mave have the lower end version of that card model an its giving problems just like i did

i did an over haul of my pc motherboard,more ram,quadcore cpu3.00ghz kept my same vidoecard an still had same problem

so bought a newer hi"end gfx card an walla game works perfect

Would the game work properly for you to create a family or move in a family so you could see if it just performs like this while you're zoomed out?

And the options. Could you open you options.ini in the Sims 3 folder in your Documents, and either copy/paste what's in it here, or just see how long the list is? There had been a similar problem, where the person's options.ini was lacking quite a bit of information, and thus wouldn't save their options.

Graphics wont change, even when I go in and change it, apply the changes and check the options again. They are all back to the lowest possible setting. I copied over my options with yours and it still seems to be acting retarded. It also keeps telling me that it's having trouble reading the hardware when I start the game. I' honestly baffled, do I have to run the game in any certain way, turn of firewalls maybe or something like that?

cuzz looks to me we had same problem an bad options.ini

i spent over a month tryin everything to get it right

in the end bought a suported videocard

@ Xog Well my card isn't even on the list so idk, but yes it looks almost exactly like those pics with the blacked out landscape, but a little more filled in.

im sorry the hd 5xxx cards just dont cut it 100% for this game

i had the 5750 in when having gfx problems

now i have NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280 and have no gfx troubles

i got it very cheep cuzz it was used but the computer store gave me 30 day warranty an that good enuff for me8)

ati is a cheaper videocard that been said they have since been bought by AMD witch is a good thing if ya ask me

Well admin it got rid of the hardware messages at the Game's menu, but other than that, no luck homie. If there's anymore advice then cool, but I'm thinking I'm just gonna have to wait and get a job or something. Anyway great downloads, glad to see a site like this especialy with sites like Demonoid dead and more following. Thanks for any and all help

I think it's either an incompatible graphic card or just a bug, I'm afraid.
