Sims Language Problem
For some reason, when installing The Sims 3 the install wizard is entirely in Japanese (or Chinese)
I figured it was because my regional setting was set to Japan (was playing some Japanese games), so I canceled out, changed my region back to the US and restarted my computer.
Tried again and installer still wasn't in English. Tried the expansions I downloaded, and out of The Sims 3, World Adventures, High-End Loft stuff, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Seasons. The only one that tried to install in English was World Adventures.
Not really sure what went wrong here, do I have to redownload everything to get it to notice the region change?
Is there something I can change to make them install in English?
Are they supposed to be this way and I just didn't read through enough of the how to install thread?

Re: Sims Language Problem
Hello,
During the base game's installation, you should be asked the language you want to use during the installation.
Where exactly did you download the The Sims 3 base game from?

Re: Sims Language Problem
Downloaded it from here, didn't realize the first window was a language selection.
You would think they would put the language choices IN the language of the option
Looked up the Japanese word for English and that fixed it.
//EDIT
Hmmmmmm fixed the problem for the base game but the expansions still all install in Japanese (except World Adventure)
and none of them let you choose what language you go with
Looked through the files and seems I'm missing parts?
World Adventures has a folder "Installer" with 3 folders and some files inside it.
2 of the folders (locale and locale-uninstaller) aren't in the other expansions
this and the ini files having an extra line at the end: "RequireExactLangMatch=0x0404"
are the only differences I can see between the expansions
I tried removing, and changing the extra line, but it made no difference

Re: Sims Language Problem
Hello,
Read this and note that you may skip all "# Crack" folders: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly
As for your other problem, why look in the "Installer" folder? Just install the game, don't do anything else.
We can always change the game's language after installation!

Re: Sims Language Problem
Mostly I was worried about conflicting versions, and figuring out which crack to put in which folder when the folders look like this:
But once again saved by Google translate, and seems to play fine
