questions about game versions and patches
Hello,I am new here, just call me ladywolf, hehehe. I am also a newbie when it comes to cracking the sims3 and make it work. With the amount of expansions and huge GB, it is kinda frustrating when i cannot get it to install right and must reinstall.
I have read the must read how to install the sims 3, but i still have several questions i hope someone can enlighten me. Thank you very much beforehand.
Have Installed in the order below:
1. The sims 3 base game
2. Installed on top the sims 3 base game by installing in the same directory: The sims 3 ultimate bundle (steam version), which contains:
The Sims 3 base game
The Sims 3 World Adventures Expansion Pack
The Sims 3 High End Loft Stuff
The Sims 3 Ambitions Expansion Pack
The Sims 3 Fast Lane Stuff
The Sims 3 Late Night Expansion Pack
The Sims 3 Outdoor Living Stuff
3. The Sims 3 Generations Expansion Pack
4. The Sims 3 Town Life Stuff
5. The Sims 3 Pets Expansion Pack
6. The Sims 3 Master Suite Stuff
7. The Sims 3 Showtime Expansion Pack
8. The Sims 3 Katy Perry Sweet Treats
I have tried installing all the above (combining PC normal game with
steam) and applied cracks after without patching and the game works but
has lots of bugs, so i want to try patching it to avoid the game being
buggy...
Questions
1. Where can i see the game version? Is it the one written below the launcher or the one when i right-clicked on TS3.exe is written on the version tab?
2. I am confused with the versions, is the sims 3 v.1.50 is the newest version to patch? Because i saw in this other website a v.1.79
(quote from that website):
(quote)As I mentioned in my previous post, ea released 5th patch (1.79) for “The Sims 3″ game to address error (Code) 16 that occurred in previous patch 1.6.6.
According to EA, this patch(The Sims 3 update v1.79 or The Sims 3
World Adventures update v2.2) will Fix for save file incompatibilities
that result in the Error Code 16 error message while saving. The patch is
available through your game launcher.(quote)
All the expansions updates just fine from one expansion to the next during installation, and the launcher also can download the patch automatically but i am unsure whether the patch that it downloaded is v.150 or other version. So i am in this crossroad dilemma whether i should let it patch automatically or patch it manually with the v.150 downloaded from the link given by games4theworld.
3. Will the cracks that is included in the game work even after patching or should i use another crack that has the same version (the one in the ultimate fix)?
4. If i play the game now and save it then in the future i install another expansion, say... Supernatural, and then crack it, will my current save game work or do i have to create a new game?
Thank you very much and sorry for the long message.
For Games4theworld: You rock!
I wish you more and more games will be posted in the download section in the future and may the website flourish and grow.

Re: questions about game versions and patches
Hello Ladywolf,
Welcome to the Games4theworld Forum!
We discourage the use of "Complete" downloads or "Ultimate bundles", since they cause a lot of problems and are often modified. (Which means they'll mess up your Registry and your PC usually doesn't recognize them as separate games) If you want to be on the safe side, use non-modified (Preferably Games4theworld) downloads.
These instructions are the most up-to-date instructions.
Conclusion: always follow these instructions: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly
RE-DOWNLOAD both the manual patch and the Ultimate Fix, prior to applying them.
Thank you for your support and trust in Games4theworld and please let us know if you need more assistance during the process!

Since the release of Generations, the expansion packs aren't updated any more. All you need to update is the base game, and it'll automatically update all your expansion packs too. Open the Launcher and hove your mouse over the base game icon, in the lower-left corner of the screen. It starts with 1.xx.xx.ladywolfz wrote:Questions

No, the new expansion pack will just add new features to your current game, it won't remove or corrupt your current save. (Although it's always recommended to keep a backup file of your saves!)ladywolfz wrote:4. If i play the game now and save it then in the future i install another expansion, say...
