Sims 3 University Specific Problems Empty Sims 3 University Specific Problems

Post by Guest Mon 25 Mar 2013, 05:09

When I entered the University, I had control of 2 Sims.

I had one drop out of the Sims University campus and continued to play out the other one.

1)Not sure if this is normal, but each time I would order a beverage or snack, the item would disappear if there is an action following it, instead of the Sim going ahead and consuming the beverage or snack.

2)The Sim that stayed, lived with 6 others in Dormitory. Upon finishing the term, the Sim became stuck on campus. The Sim is suppose to automatically go back to his/her hometown after receiving an end of term phone call. I had to make the Sim 'drop out' 3 times, go into Edit Town (clicking Just Continue when the option prompted), return to game, then 'drop out' again, before it took me back to the hometown.

3)HOWEVER once I got back, suddenly I was in control of not only the 2 Sims I created, but also the other 6 Sims from campus. It's like they followed me home! lol (On campus, I only had controll of 1 Sim)

4) So I tried to have the 6 additional Sims 'Move' out. I went through the prompts of selecting who moves out, selected Kick Out, because no one had any money to live on a lot or a pre-made residential house, then click the check box to execute the selections. Only 2 Sims left the lot, but 4 remained. I now only could control 2 Sims; the ones I created. The 4 remaining Sims are like bugs in the system. There are there, but you cant do anything to them. At least not through normal routes, like clicking them and having a Sim ask them to leave. Does anyone know a cheat or a manual override to get the unwanted Sims out? Never-mind how this effects the game experience and relationship/story/earning a degree progression... No shit, Sherlock.'

Do I have to delete this game and start all over again, including re-downloading University Life?

.....And yes I read the Must Read post for sims 3 downloading. I had no problem downloading the game so I thought it was irrelevant to to my in-game problems.

I saw there was a Fix-All download, but found the instructions confusing. I think the fix is referring to updating the Sim 3 and my game already has the latest updates.....

Ps: If it helps to know, I bought the original game & downloaded Disel, Seasons, 60's 70's 80's 90's, University Life from games4theworld. I never had a problem until now.

Resetsim the ones stuck on your lot. No idea about the other problems tough.

Edit:
How to Resetsim:
1. press Ctrl+Shift+C at the same time
2. type in 'testingCheatsenabled true' without the ['] marks and press enter
3. repeat step 1
4. type in 'resetsim [first name of the sim that's bugged] [last name of the sim that's bugged]', do that for every sim.
Everything should be fine then and the sims are back on their home lot, guess. If not, Can you afford to just simply remove those sims from the game? If yes,
Shift-Click all the sims, then click Remove under one of the actions that pop up, sorry, dont know the english name for that, but in the dutch version i have it is 'Voorwerp' -> 'Verwijderen';
5. ???
6. Enjoy the game!

And by the way, when supplying more info, just edit the post, just like I did Wink
