Long Loading Times.[SOLVED]

Hey guys,

The major things I dislike about The Sims 3 are the enormous loading times. I like to think that I have a pretty fast computer (AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 Ghz) and every other game seems to load at an acceptable rate, except The Sims 3.

I don't know if it's all of the expansion packs I have, or all of the custom content I have, but it's quite annoying. Typically when I start the game I'll go do something for about 5 minutes, return, press Play, and leave for another 5 minutes. It's really annoying -.-

Any suggestions to how I can speed all of this up?

It's a combination of expansions and cc, probably. I'd recommend uninstalling packs you don't really use or like, and go through your cc, and get rid of some of it. The loading time is still going to be long any way about it though, because the game is stupid like that.

Have you tried backing up and removing all your Mods and Custom Content first?
Those are usually the #1 cause.

Thanks Admin. I uninstalled Supernatural and University Life and a good deal of custom content I rarely used and it's sped up tremendously. It's still a tad slower than it should be, but that's just how the game is.

I think that's just the nature of the game. I complained about this to EA's support when Showtime was out. When I provided them with my DXDiag, they told me the desktop I was using was "too powerful" for the game They focused on my video card, saying it was the cause of the slow loading time. Well, I now run it on a laptop (need I say more )-sometimes completely vanilla and other times with like 9GB of CC, and the loading times are the same either way lol.

How is a computer "too powerful" for a game? By my logic, that would mean it'd run super fast -.-
