Help! Uninstall and Re-install

I downloaded the torrent for Sims 3 University, and extracted all the files onto my desk, then followed the instructions to do the set up. I placed the cracks in the correct file location, but did 'keep both files' instead of replacing them.
When I went to play, it started up wonderfully and loaded-to the end atleast. After it reached the end of the loading bar in the beginning screen, it completely stopped. I waited thirty minutes.
So I stopped, deleted the previous files, and left only the copys, then tried again-same thing.
So I kept trying and trying until finally I deleted all the files and uninstalled Sims 3 University, hoping to try again.
When I uninstalled, I opened my torrent download folder and just extracted the set up. I freezes, going unresponsive for a few minutes, before coming back with an uninstall screen. It will not let me re-download this.
What should I do?

Try to reboot and try again, or have you done that?

I've tried that and it still tried to uninstall it.
