Sims Medieval application error

Sims Medieval application error

Hi,
I'm kinda new to this whole thing, but i just downloaded the sims medieval and followed all directions to install it. When i try to open the game an error message pops up saying "the application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application." Some help on this would greatly be appreciated.
