Sims 3 Generations

Hi, Ive completely uninstalled sims 3 and have spent the night downloading all of the expansions and packs available. Before I do a complete reinstall I just want to clarify I have it right. I install the base game, followed by Generations then all the other ones in order. I update via the launcher then only use the Generations crack which goes in the base game folder. is that correct?

Make sure you have removed all the left over folders from the Sims 3 in both Program Files and My Documents.

Opened the launcher, did the update and copied the crack from the generations folder from the ultimate fix in to my base game bin folder. Opened the launcher and get a no disk erroe! Any ideas?

i have a legal version of the base game, but no CD for it. should i uninstall that too?

If you don't have the CD, then you can just crack it. No need to uninstall.

No need to uninstall, no need to crack. There's no need to crack the base game anyway, only Generations. (However the crack for Generations must be placed in the base game's game directory, as described here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly-must-read )
