Sims 3 installation completely skips over registration code? Game not working properly
I am at my wits end.
I have the base game and a few eps (late night, WA, ambitions, pets) that i bought through origin and i thought I would download those first and THEN install the rest through games4theworld. It all went downhill from there. None of the eps would work and eventhough I had the base game installed plus a few eps, when I would load the sims 3 dashboard some of them would be greyed out?
After a few attempts I decided to instead download the basegame plus all the other eps through games4theworld instead, (thinking maybe it was origin acting up)
The problem is none of them STILL don't work! I even followed the base game installation video you guys posted. Whenever the video gets to the part where you're supposed to put in a serial code, for whatever reason it always seems to skip that part for me. I'm thinking thats the cause of my games not installing correctly. Please let me know what you think.

Hello there,
First of all I suggest you have a look at this nice article here: simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS3_Uninstall
Maybe there are remnants of your previous installation on your computer, so make sure to pay attention to everything in that article, but especially the part about deleting registry keys and the "uninstall information".
After that go to (My) Documents/Electronic Arts and rename the folder with the name "The Sims 3" (for example: "The Sims 3_"). Now don't touch that folder anymore!
Now you can begin to install the games you downloaded from "Games4theWorld".
I actually can't remember anymore for what expansions I put in a serial code, but I do remember that in some of my installations no code was needed. But I'm not sure about that, maybe another Helper knows something else about it. For the moment I would, again, make sure to do a "clean uninstall" of all your Sims 3 games, then rename "the Sims 3" folder, and after that re-install all the stuff. And if no code is needed, then let it be for the moment .
Good luck!

Hello, It's normal that it doesn't ask for the registration code any more, since you have at least one expansion pack installed. Now, try these steps, please: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly Do them in this order: 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Good luck!
