I keep getting "service initialization failed (0x0175dcbb)" with the Sims 3 Empty I keep getting "service initialization failed (0x0175dcbb)" with the Sims 3

Post by Guest Fri 17 May 2013, 22:39

I have downloaded both the sims 3 ambitions and university expansion from here through the u torrent , and followed the instructions mentioned in the "MUST READ" thread, the thing is when I go to "C:\Program Files (x86)" the Electronic Art is not there, but when I've searched I've found it in the documents. The folder is like this, Electronic Art/ The Sims 3: got DeviceConfig and Options. Both the Sims 3 expansions are in the downloads section. So as I said I did all the stuff mentioned in the "MUST READ" thread, by downloading the manual patch and Ultimate Fix but I couldn't open the "# Crack" folder in the Ultimate Fix and drag & drop C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin because the Electronic Art folder isn't there, so I opened the crack folder in the ambitions expansion and extracted .exe and .dll file, copied to Documents/ Electronic Art/The Sims 3 and then copied the crack folder in the ultimate fix and replaced it in Documents/ Electronic Art/The Sims 3 and when I clicked at it I got this "service initialization failed (0x0175dcbb)". And when I tried to apply the manual patch I get this, "This program requires administrative privileges to install. Please log in as an administrator or member of the administrator group in order to install." So I honestly don't know what to do and this is my first time to download a game and I have deleted and downloaded this game four times from this website and followed the instructions yet nothing seems to work. PLEASE HELP!!

Hi

Have a little read of this topic https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t11737-need-help-with-error-0x0175dcbb-solved

It helped with someone else having the same error code as you.

Hello there,

First of all: from what I understand, something went wrong with your install location: the game itself should (normally) be in C:/Program files(x86)/Electronic Arts.
Try uninstalling the game and the expansions completely. In Windows 7, go to Start/Programs & features and choose "uninstall a program". You might also want to look at this article
here about uninstalling: simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS3_Uninstall
I know it might be tricky, but you should make sure to delete the right registry keys too! (read that article very carefully).

After you uninstalled the game and the expansions, go to Documents/Electronic Arts and rename the folder "The Sims 3" in any way you like (for example "The Sims 3_"). After that don't touch that folder anymore!

Now you can re-install the game; again, the "right" install location should come up automatically in the installation menu ( C:/Program files) - don't change that!

As for the manual patch, right-click on the manual patch and select "Run as Administrator".

That's it - for the moment. Good luck!

Yeah, every time I install the game, I don't find it in the program files(x86) location, but find it somewhere else and there is a little problem here and I can't uninstall the sims 3 because it's not even there in the "Program and features". So should I just deleted it from the "Download" folder because the two expansions ambitions and university are there with u torrent version too. Should I also delete both the "Manual" and "Ultimate fix" or no need to do that. Thanks Smile

The (X86) part is for windows 7 however you should find it under normal program files, if your not running windows 7 then thats fine ignore the (x86) part.

Hope this helps,

Double check that you are putting the fix in the right place, if you do not have programme files (x86) then simply ignore that part and just use where it is installed under, probably just plain programme files.

My operating system is windows 7 and the system type is 64-bit, and the program(X86) is there but the "electronic art" folder is not in it and when I have tried to uninstall it from the "program and features", TS3 expansions are not there but they're in the download folder and the "electronic art" is in the document. I did search for it in the normal program file but it's not there too.

Hello again,

I know this might be a bit tricky, but re-read this here: http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS3_Uninstall#Advanced_-_Edit_Registry_manually

If you click on that link, you'll get to a section of the article called "Cleaning up the registry". After that you should also read the next section, namely "Delete the uninstall files".
If you feel you cannot find something which has to be deleted, you can still try the search function (press Ctrl + F). Now copy & paste the name of the thing you're searching into the small search window that pops up; and let the computer search for the item(s).

I have followed everything that's mentioned in the link above but I didn't find the stuff which needs to be deleted, so I did the search function, found TS3 expansions and deleted it the normal way and restarted the PC just in case. So should I download the game or there's anything I must do before downloading it.

OK, did you actually get your Sims 3 games from "Games4TheWorld"? If not, then (re-) download them. What I forgot to mention yesterday too is this: Before you actually re-install your stuff, go to (My) Documents/Electronic Arts/ and rename the folder with the name "The Sims 3" in any way you like (for example:"The Sims 3_"). After renaming that folder, don't touch it anymore !

From what I see, the game just installed in the wrong folder.
Please do this:
Open My computer, then click on C:, and do a search of Electronic Arts there. You should find two folders:
One is in My Documents and is used to store game saves and custom content.
The other one should be your installation directory, and where you need to place the Crack files.

Please tell me if this isn't clear enough! Wink
