Really weird/annoying stuff happening

So when I go into the game and get the option to click on the different
families/games I have, they're all grey and when I try to click on it it won't let me.
I have most of the expansion
packs installed. Just recently I installed Ambitions, Town Life Stuff
and Fast Lane. After installing these three and opening up the game, the
problems started happening. I also only have two cities available, all
the rest are gone.
When I try to go to create a sim and choose clothing,
all of my clothing from expansion packs (except for the University Life
and Ambitions clothing, those are okay) are invisible and show up as "custom content"
and make my sim invisible where they get put. I don't have any custom content installed on my game.

Can anyone please help me? I'm so frustrated right now

Ok, first, go to My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3, and delete the following:
- the folders DCCache and DCBackup
- the folders WorldCache and Thumbnails
- CASPartCache.package
- compositorCache.package
- scriptCache.package
- simCompositorCache.package
- socialCache.package

Ahhhhh, nope doesn't seem to change anything.

Please try to rename your game folder to make the game a create a new one. Go to Documents/EA Games/The Sims 3. Rename the Sims 3 game with anything you like, it can be "The Sims 3." for now.

Then start your game, and see if the problems still continues.
