The Sims 3 Installation "Unknown Error". [SOLVED]

Hello,

As per the provided Mac installation guide, I downloaded the given torrent, no problem. In following the directions I used the archive utility and then moved the folder to my applications folder. I declined both original updates, and clicked the update button myself as the directions said to do. However, when the update finishes and I click on "The Sims 3" a pop up appears with the message "Unknown Error Occurred." In lieu, then, of the update from the launcher, I downloaded and applied the manual update provided here in the forums. I get the same message and am unable to proceed with the steps outlined in the guide.

Am I missing something myself? Or doing something incorrectly? For, that is very possible. Or is this a genuine error?

Any help that anyone could provide would be immensely appreciated. Thank you very much, in advance!
