Problem with install
Hello. I have same problem.
I used to have everything fro you installed and working but I recently reformatted my hard drive and started fresh. I had original DVD game purchased and then I started adding in your expansions/stuff packs. So my base game was mine and I had it fully up to date via Origin before I started installing your stuff.
I got High End, 70s 80s 90s, Ambitions, and Fast Lane installed and have not opened any of them. I started on World Adventures and got stuck here on looking for the Regedit Sku. What can I do at this point?
Thank you kindly in advance.

Hey there!
I've split the topic for you, makes it easier for people to look for problems afterwards!
Anyway, what is your error exactly? Did you apply the Ultimate Fix?

Regedit problem - World Adventures
I am trying to install World Adventures and not launch game until I have installed all 17 expansions/stuff packs. I thought I wasn't suppose to apply fixes until after I installed everything I want to install?
Normally in the .rar files of the above named expansions I did install , after I unzip them there is an Autorun that installs the EP/SP and all I add in is a serial number from the instructions.
The time before I started the thread after clicking autorun it said something about not finding the same named file needed to run.
TODAY - I had redownloaded World Expansions and it says the region code must match.
I looked in the .rar file and found install instructions that say:
1. First be sure you've Installed The Sims 3 from ® Games4theworld:
(WWW) thepiratebay.org/user/games4theworld
2. Now open the Start menu. Type 'regedit' in the search box and press [ENTER]. Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sims\The Sims 3 and double-click on 'SKU'. Change the shown
number to 2 and press 'OK'. Close the Register Editor.
- 1) as I stated above I'm starting with my own base game. - Am I screwed? Do I need to reinstall everything again starting with downloading your base game?
- 2) I am not finding the 'SKU' in rededit ...
and that is where I am stuck.

Re: Problem with install
Try to edit the SKU. The correct Registry key is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432\Sims\The Sims 3.
Please tell us the result!
Oh, and install everything, then apply the Manual Patch, then copy the files from the Crack folder only of the Ultimate Fix to their right location.

Re: Problem with install
Editing the SKU isn't always needed. Try installing the game without changing it first, and if you get the region error then we'll work on finding the registry entry.

Re: Problem with install
Invalidusername - I was getting region error. So, I needed to edit SKU.
Shamrock - I found SKU where you said it was! It is installing now.
I will continue to install the other EPs & SPs later tonight and will let you all know if I had any more problems! Interesting to learn about that SKU thing, that might come in handy later on.
