SIMS 3 GENERATIONS INSTALLER NOT OPENING

I was finally able to install the base game onto the computer. I followed the MAC specific directions for adding the expansion packs to the game, and now I'm trying to open the Generations installer and it's not working! Can someone please tell me why?

Could you please be more specific on what exactly the problem is?

I downloaded the sims 3 gen and a few other exp packs. I then followed the directions saying that I had to creates image disk from the disk utilities. Finally when the disk image was created, i clicked on the sims gen installer and it did nothing. I restarted the computer and still the installer option is not responding

I seriously feel for you D; Its absolutely crazy all that work to download and make a disk image and it not working. Are you using the 2009 version of stuffit expander to open it?

I hear that if you use anything else it has some issues.

But I honestly don't know what your problem is. Can you take a few screen shots to show?

Thanx you all for responding. I'm truthing you totally , I have the disk image all set up and I try to click open the generations installer and it does not launch!

Uh, that is a direct file link that only works on your computer. You probably need to upload it to tinypic.com or photobucket.

Foxy, this is most likely due to your extractor. If you haven't already, you MUST used the version of stuffit expander provided in the guide. What extractor did you use to extract the .rar files..

the unarchiver. I also have stuffit, but the unarchiver automatically extracts the files. why does it only work with that specific extractor?

In all honesty, I'm not sure.. Just know it only works with that version, so you have to use that version, no other extractor or version of stuffit.. Only that version..

agreed.. i initially opened the rar files with Rarmachine for mac, then made a disk image with it, and it didn't work... then i used Stuffit Expander, and everything worked perfect...

don't know why that would be, but just try to unpack everything with Stuffit and you should be fine
