ps3 hardware fault

who knows how to fix a disc reading error on a ps3 40 gb, the loading sign comes up in the right top corner but the disc never loads.

if u still on warranty , better u bring your ps3 to manufacturer. If u try to do something, u will take big risk.

warranty is finished i bin doin sum research might be a blueray laser burnt out, manufacturer gonna ask for too much money

I don't know about UK, but here in The Netherlands, you can still get your Xbox fixed, even if it's warrantee has passed, because law says so. If you used the console like everyone else, I should get some information about that - A console has to work for at least one and a half year without any problems.
