Typing international characters in CAS? [SOLVED]
I'd like to give my sim a name with international characters in it (like é or ñ), but I can't seem to find the correct way to do it on my Windows computer. I was able to do it when I played Sims 3 on my Mac...any help?

Hello there,
To use examples from Portuguese, let's take the names João and Verônica.
The probably easiest way to enter these names into CAS is to basically "mark" these names with your mouse (as if you were copying a text), whether they are on a website or in any kind of electronic document, then you go back into your game and CLICK on the right field in CAS (first or second name).
Now press Ctrl+V to paste the name into the field.
But if you want a more complex/faster way to do that, you may have to ask someone else, because I'm not too familiar with that.
//EDIT
With my German keyboard, I can type in letters with the diacritic "^". It should work for English keyboards too: press Alt + ^ ( the diacritic should be on the left side of the keyboard, and often on the left next to "1"). Now type a letter like a. You should then get â.
Moreover, in Microsoft Office, you can go to the "Insert" tab and then to "symbols" - there you can look for the letters you need. And most of these letters have certain ways of being typed in, namely by pressing several keys in a special order (usually involving the Ctrl, Alt and other keys). Or you can simply click on a symbol/letter, then on OK - now the symbol is in your document.

I tried it on Windows 7 with the game in window mode. I changed the keyboard layout and it worked (I think). You can also try to paste a name from somewhere like Carlos G. said.
