downloaded cars?

hey everybody!
first of all, i want to apologize if i should unintentionally double-post a question, but i couldn't find this topic, so i'll just ask:

well, i'm new to the whole mods thing and i only recently installed sims3 with expansion packs, because i never realized until a few weeks ago that you actually could do that on a ripped game with crack Embarassed

(yes, i am properly ashamed for my noobness)

but anyway, thanks to g4tw and the fantastic support here i was able to install all the stuff eventually and so far it runs perfect. however, being the car-nutter that i am, i googled around a bit and found that some people do amazing mods to download for vehicles and one of them i find particularly good. i won't post the website, because i'm not sure if that is allowed in this forum, but i can if it makes it easier for you guys?
anyway, what i'd like to know is if someone else here has experience with those downloadable cars from "fresh prince" and if so:
-does it work with the cracked games from g4tw? i don't want to mess it up.
-how should i install them properly?
-are there issues? what are those?
-if there are problems, is there a fix and how do i fix it?

i'd be very thankful if someone would share their experiences and even if you don't have anything from "fresh prince creations" but other mods, would give me tips and guide me through the possible problems so i can make my mind up if i want to try it or if i should leave that sort of thing alone. note that i am a novice to this sort of thing! so, thanks a lot to anyone who is willing to share their knowledge with me Smile

I have cars from Fresh Prince with all the Expansions. I have since deleted some expansions and stuff packs since I didn't use them.
I like to use .sim3pack I haven't myself decrapified any and they work fine but you're welcome to.
If you want some mods, nRaas mods seem to be the best that shouldn't cause any errors.

I agree with Layloria Fresh Prince has the best cars for the Sims 3. Everything from classic muscle cars to todays most popular cars and trucks can be found there.

hey, thanks for the quick response, i agree, they look amazingly good. what i could find from googling they are by far the best, which is why i'd like to use some of them.
i have to admitt though, shamefully, that i don't quite know how to go about using them once downloaded.
could you tell me, please?

You have a choice to DL the .sims3pack and/or the .package files. For .sims3pack you can use the loader to install them by copying the .sims3pack to your downloads folder, the opackage files are placed in your Mods/Files folder

Hello,

Depending on what format the files are in, you have to choose different installation methods.

If they are in .package, read this to find out more about installation.
If they are in .sims3pack, read this and decrapify according to the instructions. After that, double-click the files to start installation.

Should you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

@cat2006house Frsh Prince's .sims3pack files dont need to be decrapped as they are user created. Only Store content needs to be decrapped.

hey again

sorry for the late response, but i didn't have time to do this with the sims yet, because it's been rather busy around here, but now the weekend finally started for me, so i'm about to do this now Razz

i have however one additional question: i noticed that not all of the content i wanted to have was available as .sims3pack, there's two that i can only get as .package. now i could either use the .sims3pack only and ignore the two .package ones (as they also are the ones that interest me the least), or use both the ones in .sims3pack as such and then only the two others as .package, or get them all as .package

what would be the best idea? rather just use the .sims3pack or get them all as .package or can you just mix it and use both types? i wanna cause as little hustle with this as possible because i already had my computer being unable to load the game until i erased the save file and restarted the computer.

i have read that before, several times actually. what i was wondering wasn't how to do it, i was more wondering if it might cause problems to go for both sims3pack and package types, since my computer is sometimes a little weird and i don't want the game to crash.

Hello,

No it won't cause any problems if the .package files you downloaded is compatible and not corrupted. They work just fine with sims3packs.

First of all, if you want to download official store content, you can download them from www.games4theworlddownloads.org. Mod the Sims and Nraas are also great sites for downloading mods and CC.
