unable to start game.

hi,

i keep getting this message 'there was an error during startup. please see the log for more details'.

i got the sims 3, late night, high-end loft stuff through a humble bundle deal and is installed through origin. i then brought pets an again installed through origin. i found this wonderful site and tried to install ambitions and generations.
i have followed the install pdf for the ultimate fix to the letter. i have placed all the files correctly, downloaded the manual patch and installed that. watched the reapair video for the registry and i believe everything is correct. im just hitting dead ends now.

versions and specs
sims ver 1.57
windows vista 32bit
core 2 duo 2 ghz
4gb ram
nvidia 550ti
hdd 1: c:/ is maxed out
hdd 2: e:/ where everything is installed (i think, its what i set it too.)

any help would be fantastic, any more info required let me know.

Hello,

Is your pc 32-bit? If yes, you should look into the registry folders in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >> SOFTWARE >> Sims 3 instead of the registry folder "Wow6432Node" when applying this video:

Also, if you notice, the base game bin folder is located in the folder "Origin Games" instead of "Electronic Arts". You should apply the #crack of the Ultimate Fix there.

yes. I've done all that. however, on the registry part of the fix. i had a search through and i appear to have a few sims entries. i have entries under origins games folder. entries under electronic arts folder, and entries in the sims 3 folder. (all of these viewed in regedit). would i need to have just a single folder with sims entries or these other entries correct.

Hello,

It's normal to have multiple registry entries in different registry folders. They are not duplicates of one another. They are required if you want to run the game. Please reinstall the base games and all the expansions with the help of this guide and try again.
