Problems AFTER Installing Ambitions/Generations
Hello!
I follwed the directions given on installing, Ambitions first. Created the .dmg file and everything, gave me the installation thing and all that jazz. Not sure where I went wrong next. Tried saving the game to my Macintosh HD drive, where my EA folder contained Sims 3 base game was located (BTW didn't download the base from Games4theWorld). The game gave me a pop up telling me I had to save it to the same location as TheSims3.app was so I saved it directly to the EA folder which worked. After installing that, Ambitions would not open, so I, for some reason, installed Generations, included both of the fixes precisely as the the instructions stated, replacing the files given and restarted my computer afterwards. Then I recieved another pop up saying "New Update Available" after clicking Generations. Thinking this was because I had replaced the old files with the fixed ones, I clicked yes, which after a while, finally opened the game dashboard, but the game is now asking me to put in the CD
Should I have ignored that New Updates window? Will uninstalling and reinstalling fix this problem?
Thanks a lot! Really appreciate this site!!

Have you tried re-applying the cracks to the base game?
Unless, if there's a newer version then that means those cracks are now outdated if you have updated the game.
Hmm, just try re-applying the crack files to the base game and tell me if anything happens.

The base game I downloaded from Pirate bay didnt have any crack files equipt. it came as a completely installed program. To make sure everythign works, I'm just going uninstall everything and install the base game + expansions from games4theworld because I realllly want to play using expansions lol.

Assuming this PDF is the most update, plus the fixes, I'll write back to whether or not this works.
//EDIT
Did everything exactly as the installation guide from the Updated Fixes download instructed to. Merged the iso files and everything, and installed the base game fine. Didnt work. After getting the dashboard and pressing play, I get a Disc Authentication Failure >.< I've been scanning the forums, but I can't find any reference to this problem before.

The g4tw base game doesn't work for Mac. I had one uploaded on a webhost but that host has now closed down. I'm in the process of uploading it to Megaupload so bare with me.. There's 25 200mb parts and it takes a while..

Hehe, for people downloading it: I recommend you use Jdownloader. When you download and install that one, run it and just copy all the links. Jdownloader will then automatically start to download all the files!Dale wrote:The g4tw base game doesn't work for Mac. I had one uploaded on a webhost but that host has now closed down.
