VIRUS INFECTED SOFTWARE. [CLOSED]
I trusted this website because the sims 3 downloads all seem to do what they're supposed to harmlessly, and so i downloaded virtual villagers from games4thworld.org
and as soon as i unzipped and clicked install my computer deletes it because it's infected with some sort of virus or malware.
but this isnt the only time this has happened
i downloaded the microsoft office 2010 and it asks you do really strange things to activate it, which turned out to be malicious as well, so i just deleted the infected parts and the microsoft office 2010 works fine on my computer, doesnt need to be activated with ur strange, heuristic additions
why would u do this to us???????? betraying my trust like this.......computers arent cheap..........

Hello,
I downloaded myself a lot of "Games4TheWorld's" downloads - and I guarantee that absolutely nothing is wrong with them. I also downloaded "Virtual Villagers" and I had no problems at all.
Many modern anti-virus programs detect "crack-files" as virusses, even though nothing is wrong with them, so in case of G4TW's uploads it might be a good idea to ignore these "warnings" - or completely turn off the anti-virus program.
On another note, it can happen that uploaders use the "names" of well-known groups (G4TW, Razor, Skidrow, etc.) to upload their virus-infected stuff. Make sure to download G4TW stuff from this site here or the Piratebay account mentioned on that site.
I'm sorry to hear that you have/had a hard time with downloads, but again: I guarantee that nothing is wrong with uploads from "Games4TheWorld".

I have downloaded MS Office 2010 and I got a message from Norton saying the crack is infected as well. But I know nearly every crack in the world is classified as a virus by AVs. But the ones from G4TW is definitely not viruses, I can guarantee that.

Hello,
I understand your concerns, but you really don't have to worry, these guys are right. Cracks are often marked as trojans or other malicious software.
We test everything ourselves and we still guarantee 100% free of virusses! Even though your AV would like to have you believe something else.

I had the same problem with Norton's when downloading EPs or patches. Norton keeps saying the cracks or keygens are infected. Just view details when the notice pops up and override them.

No doubt that other people use the name G4TW just to load it with viruses just make sure you go to the G4TW download site located on PB and you shall see a load of G4TW downloads together.

Re: VIRUS INFECTED SOFTWARE. [CLOSED]
Far from every crack is detected as a virus by my Bitdefender, but those who are, are most likely infected. Though I have not stumbled upon one from G4TW.
And no I wouldn't take a G4TW staff or associated/helper/whatever's word for it as they're obviously biased and if they had something to hide they would.

I would love to point out that I trust G4TW not because I am a helper, but because G4TW downloads are trustworthy and they never give me headaches. In fact, I have nothing to hide, since I have no associations with most of their downloads (except 1.63 crack, the one I have created). Whether you take it for granted or not, let me give you an advice: even though everyone is entitled to their opinions, evidence is not to be ignored. The right to say whatever you want doesn't mean you can express your opinions without proof. I suggest you revise your opinion.LaGolfa wrote:And no I wouldn't take a G4TW staff or associated/helper/whatever's word for it as they're obviously biased and if they had something to hide they would.

We're not even associated with each other. None of us knows another team member personally (as far as I know). We all met here and became team members after downloading from G4TW and joining the forum. I don't see how any of us would benefit from knowingly spreading malicious files and since everything is tested before it's made available, there's little chance of spreading malicious files unknowingly.cat2006house wrote:I would love to point out that I trust G4TW not because I am a helper, but because G4TW downloads are trustworthy and they never give me headaches. We're on top of "outside links" pointing to downloads because we don't want to be associated with malicious files and every one of those links is censored.
There's nothing wrong with being careful, but we're not "obviously biased". You can see that we're all from different parts of the world and even Admin and I don't know each other personally (I only know the guy by the name "Admin" ) even though we're in the same country.

I never meant to offend anyone, but if you're part of an organization you're generally seen as biased towards that organization. And as far as we(any random person visiting this site) know this could all be part of your attempt to hide and look innocent. I'm not saying that that's the case. But how could we know? Therefor you rather look at someone third-party that's less likely to be corrupt.Lady ElDi wrote:We're not even associated with each other. Hello there,
First of all, we're not an organisation, nor a company or anything. We're just a few individuals, forming a group. (Or "team", whatever you like to call it)
Our goal is spreading torrents with clear instructions included, and helping people with everything we can help them with.
I understand your concerns and everyone here explained the reason for the error(s) you get. But if you don't want to listen to any of us, then why do you or OP even bother to post here? We're here to hear your complaints, and we did. If you don't trust our downloads, it's simple: don't use them, really. If you don't trust the thousands of people downloading from us, then I'm sure you won't believe us either.
Anyway, you can't. You can't trust us. But I guess that's a risk you'll have to take.
Sure, It's probably some kind of conspiracy. I've been complaining about that as well.

You missed my point entirely. I never said that you were corrupt, I also said that I've yet to stumble upon a G4TW file that's infected. I just pointed out that maybe you shouldn't take that creators, of the very file you think might be infected, word for it. Because if it was infected, and the very reason you released the file was to get people infected, you sure wouldn't say so. Would you?Admin wrote:Hello there,

In that (HIGHLY theoretical) example, no uploader with bad intentions would say that their uploads are infected, this is true. And yes, you are welcome to doubt anything anybody says, but nobody prevents you from the checking the stuff you download for yourself. So there shouldn't be a problem at all ?LaGolfa wrote:You missed my point entirely. I never said that you were corrupt, I also said that I've yet to stumble upon a G4TW file that's infected. Besides, if we wanted to harm people, we wouldn't need - or better: it would be highly inefficient to set up such a big support-network, consisting of the forum, e-mail support, Facebook and Twitter. Why would we go that far then ?

I once came across a serious scamming organization which sent out false bills to random people all across earth. Not only did they send out bills and infractions that looked exactly like real once, but they also had a https website that looked exactly look a real banks would with legal writings and you name it, they had you register on their site and then sent you a real brochure by mail to your home adress. They also had a "real" phonesupport that you could call, all to make it look real so people believe that the bill was real and that they would have to pay up or else you'd get in trouble.
Now that is an extreme example, but there's really no way to tell how far someone will go to reach their goals. And yet again. I am NOT saying that you are corrupt, I really like this place and have recommended it to several people already. I just thought that, in that particular case maybe it wasn't such a good idea to listen to those who appear to be in association with the group who you think have god you infected. But instead to look further into it on your own and see what other third-party's have to say.

I understand your viewpoint and concern. However, it's your responsibility to verify the organization and its products/services it provides. Not only you need to do research (note that word of mouth is one of the most inaccurate sources because consumers may be misled) on the products you want to buy (according to The buyer-decision process in marketing), you need also to evaulate the alternatives of the products. Say the largest cosmetology fraud in Hong Kong "DR Fraud", a customer of a company called DR died in the accident of injector/syringe because she didn't do enough research on the market of cosmetology and stumbled across the company blindly. I am not saying it's all her fault (The company should bear the most responsibility actually). But the point is, she should go through the buyer-decision process first.LaGolfa wrote:To make it all look legit? Wouldn't be the first time someone do that on the internet.

It's also your responsbiliity to examine the torrents provided by G4TW, and to evaulate the alternatives (other sites providing the same sort of torrents). It's your choice not to trust us, but that doesn't mean people who appear to be part of the associations are always biased. Because people have examined on their own (for instance download the torrents on your own and see what the anti-viruses and other online AVs say about the torrent (except the crack)), that's why they trust G4TW's torrents. And not investigating the torrents and saying our opinions are biased is not a justifiable way of making a decision.

If you belong to an organization/team/group or whatever you are seen as biased to that organization. That's how it is. And always will be. What I wanted him to do was exactly what you described, look further into the source on his own. Anyway, I've spoke my mind. So I won't reply further, I hope you don't disapprove. Hello,
Well then, good. If people have more concerns about virus-infected Games4theworld torrents, feel free to do a good search on the web, if you don't want to take our word for it.
Anyway, I assume OP is not going to reply here any more and this discussion is getting useless, so I'll close this topic now.
