"Display Driver stopped responding and has recovered" HELP PLEASE

I stopped playing Sims 3 (specifically Island Paradise) for like 2 weeks because of school and then when I had the time, I installed Sims 3 Medieval. I played it normally for 2 days but one day my game stopped responding and a notification appeared saying that my display driver stopped responding. I reinstalled the game again and again but It didn't change anything. Before, I can still open the Sims 3 for 5 minutes and then it will minimize and freeze and a notification will pop up again saying that. How can I fix this?? 

P.S. I'm really not a computer savvy and is a lil dumb when it comes to these problems. T_T

have you the latest drivers for your graphic card? what kind of graphic card do you have? do you ati you can download catalyst to update drivers. if yyou have nvidia you can use nvidia control center. (i think thats the name of nvidias software. dont realy remember ben a while sinch i had nvidia card)
