HELP! Game quitting - MACosX
Hey. Thanks for taking the time to help.
I recently downloaded the Sims 3 from utorrent along with all of the expansion packs. After a while, I was able to get everything installed and set up. I used all of the patches and followed completely the install directions.
However, when I go to actually play the game, it's freezing when I start the character creation process, usually about 10-15 minutes into me being on the game.
I've tried to look through the posts for an issue similar to mine, but I've not seen anyone with this problem that's using a Mac.
I have an OSX Snow Leopard, but I've not had problems playing before. Any helps or hints would be greatly appreciated. And thanks in advance.

Hello,
Have you updated your game and applied the Ultimate Fix for Mac?

yes, I did the fix and moved the files over necessary. I followed the directions exactly and everything works at start up until I'm creating a character.

Do you have any Mods or Custom Content installed on your game?

Yes, I do have some mods and custom content.
Am I not able to use these in the game? I've kept them installed in separate folders in case I needed to delete though.

Hello,
You might want to try removing the mods and custom contents first, and see if you still get the same problem.

Hi,
I had the same problem. Delete the custom content and mods as the others said and before you enter the game open activity monitor and check if something is using up your Mac's RAM. Even kernel uses nearly 1Gb on Macs. Quit all the programs and especially all the browsers. After doing all these,if the problem persists, change your sims' town. The town you live in may be broken.

I am so sorry for the delay. Kind of forgot about the game and the fact that it wasn't working. Ummm, are we not able to use custom content at all with the game?
//EDIT
and even with the custom content removed from the game, it is still not working. i get an error number, but it moved off of my screen to quickly for me to copy it down.
i got in about thirty minutes of play before it crashed though.
Helper Edit: Please edit your post for additional information instead of double-posting. Thank you.

Hello,
Some CCs might not be compatible with the new patches thus they cause problems. You can use them but you have to check if they are compatible with v.1.57 (latest patch).
Also, since I do not know what error you received, I'm not quite sure how to help you. I suggest you try playing the game again. If you get the message, try to at least give us an idea of what type of message it is

Re: HELP! Game quitting - MACosX
Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x69532000 at address 0x00e4ee3
Do you wish to debug it?
That's the message that I received. I went through all the steps again, short of deleting the games and reinstalling, but this time I was able to finish character creation and when I went to save the characters, it just spun for like 10mins. I force closed, then went back in and got that message.
Also, when I'm starting the game before the in-game message comes up, it's saying "It looks like you have installed an unofficial game modification that does not match your current version of the Sims 3. We recommend that you either uninstall these game modifications or get updated versions of them – otherwise you may experience crashes or significant bugs."

Re: HELP! Game quitting - MACosX
Hi there!
Please try the following steps:
1) Update your base game via the launcher to 1.63, if you have not. (Your launcher should show Version 1.63 at the bottom left corner.)
2) Reapply the latest Ultimate Fix. If you are unsure, re-download it here.
3) Go to your "Documents" folder. You should see a folder named " Electronic Arts". Delete that folder. (Or rename it if you have any saved data that you want to keep.)
4) Run your game again.
Let us know how that works out, please.
