Into The Future; stuck in portal

I have searched around for a solution to this problem but can't find any.
My sim gets stuck in that portal and nothing happens until I reset him/her. And this is starting to bug me!!!
Even though I remove the mods, the CC and empty the cache files the problem remains.
I even removed the entire folder and let the game create a new one, not even this worked.
So by now I have tried everything  

What should I do? Uninstall everything and start over?

And to go to the future, is the portal the only way?

It seems to me that a lot of people are having this problem...

If you have removed the entire folder Documents\Electronic Arts, created a new save and still this problem persists, I suggest you either

(1) Delete the old portal and buy a new one.
(2) Download and install a Nraas mod called Traveler and teleport him/her to Oasis Landing.

Please let us know the result.

Yeah, too many of us have this problem  

I have deleted the portal and bought a new one, but no change. They still get stuck.

I'm gonna download the mod now and maybe I finally can travel to the future  

I'll be back!

I fixed this problem by reinstalling the game with an entirely new download of Into the Future from bittorrent, then I installed it again. Annoying but it worked.
You can try buying a portal.
