Can't get to town load screen...

I thought I'd share something I discovered (dunno if it's out there already...)
I patched to 1.63.5 which adds an "Interactive Loading Screen". DISABLE it ASAP.

My towns would not load. The loading screen wouldnt even appear. It would just crash to desktop.
After doing all the normal stuff... removing mods, custom content, caches... it would still crash.
A little (a lot) of googleing lead me to discover that the new patch added this "feature".
I just hope it helps alleviate some hair pulling.

I never encounter crashes with the interactive screen. I don't even bother to "play a little game" with interactive screen. Are you sure you have the latest Ultimate Fix? There are some problems with our previous Ultimate Fix link (our mistake putting up an outdated Fix).

Yes I have the latest Ultimate Fix. I guess my game just didnt want to get along with the new screens. as soon as i disabled them *POOF* town loads properly.
well then i guess this tip is for people who MAY have the same issue I did.

Please open the Ultimate Fix with WinRAR. Can you tell me the date modified of the folder #crack? If it's 18/10, then it's the latest Ultimate Fix.ANDR01D wrote:Yes I have the latest Ultimate Fix. Either way, EA does destroy the game everytime a patch is released.

If that doesn't help at all, rename the folder C:\Users\(your computer name)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3.cat2006house wrote:

Seriously, if all these can't help, disabling the interactive screen is the last last resort.

I see, but I don't think you have deleted some of the files I have mentioned (like the files in Featureitems or .bin).

Thank you for taking time to do that little research, but as far as I'm concerned, I cannot confirm any "problems" with that. If there is any trouble, it is usually caused by incompatible mods. Note that just because a mod is "compatible" with your current base game patch level, it does NOT necessarily mean that the mod is safe to use.
In that case, take out all mods and put them back in one-by-one, to find out which mod causes trouble.
