Question about the "How to Install Sims 3 Correctly". Confused
It says to install one of the expansions and then follow the next steps. But it also says you don't need to use the crack to do that, but I can't install the expansion without a crack.
My problem with the download is that it tells me to re-enter and verify my registration code over and over nonstop. So that's why I am trying to do the instructions on that page.

It's not necessary to enter ANY "registration code" - you just need to enter the serial number for installing (see the "Instruction.guide.txt" in the download). As soon as you entered that serial number, the expansion should install itself.

For that, follow the steps 2, 3 and 4 as precisely as possible: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly
This means: re-apply that "manual patch" first (step #2). Then re-download the Ultimate fix (step #3), and apply that fix then (step #4).
Let us know the result !

Thank you. Okay I went to do the patch and after the installation started, it said this:
"The installed version of the application could not be determined. The setup will now terminate." and then it closed out

You used the big manual patch, with about 1.4 GB in size, like in the link I posted above ? If you have Windows Vista or later, can you right-click on the patch, and choose "run as Administrator" ?elise08 wrote:Thank you. Okay I went to do the patch and after the installation started, it said this:

Yeah that's the one. I right-clicked it and ran it as administrator and got another error message. I'm going to re-download it and try again

Can you try downloading it with Chrome? Don't interrupt the download this time.

Yeah Chrome is what I used, I re-downloaded it and it worked fine this time. I did that and then the next steps but I still got the "no disk inserted" message when the game loaded up. What about mounting, would that fix it?

Have you tried double clicking the .iso files themselves? Double-click the 'start disk' one first. If it opens a folder containing a bunch of files, scroll down and find the Setup.exe file and double-click it to run the installation. Half way through the installation (once you put in the serial, etc.) it will ask you for another disk. Then, right-click on the OTHER .iso file (this one should say 'disk 1' - in other words, NOT the startdisk.iso) and select 'Mount'. Go back to your installation and select the drive in which the other disk is mounted to. You should find it in the drop-down menu it prompts you with. Hit 'Ok', then it should continue the installation without a hitch.
Hopefully that helps! Happy Simming.

Re: Question about the "How to Install Sims 3 Correctly". Confused
Hmm well I mounted it with Daemon Tools but when I double clicked the ISO file it just immediately began and I didn't see any Disk 1 or anything or have the option to click anything else. Now it's on a virtual drive, but when I go to it it only gives me the option of Sims 3 Setup but when I click that it tells me that doing so will install an earlier version of the game since I already have the newer one installed, and that I have to uninstall first

Why do you need to "mount" anything ? If you got your games from Games4TheWorld, you don't need to mount. These downloads are .RAR files, and you should extract the content of a .RAR file to an empty folder (use separate folders for each expansion you have).elise08 wrote:Yeah Chrome is what I used, I re-downloaded it and it worked fine this time. Again, re-read this here, like I already said: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly

Hello,
You can avoid the "please insert disk" message by applying the crack from the latest fix, but don't do that until after you finish installing all the expansions that you want.
