Please help! Game opens, but no towns, can't start new game

First of all, thank you guys soooooo much for these downloads and all the time you put into this, with detailed instructions for the technologically impaired people such as myself. So, I bought the sims base game and nightlife. I followed the instructions to install pets and can successfully open the game. once the intro finishes and it is time to choose a town/saved game, no previous games appear and the drop down list of towns is blank as well. I can't even start a new game. Please help! I must have done something wrong while installing. I really appreciate it!:newfag:

Please HELP with this issue. I also have this problem
I installed every major expansion and some stuff packs, The last one I installed is University Life, followed EVERY STEP of the ultimate fix and get the same problem

Load bar = OK
Intro movie = OK
University life logo + loading = OK
In Select game screen, NONE of the buttons work, I click them and they do NOTHING, the options button reveals just blanks, the New Game button doesn't do anything and there are no cities to choose from in the cities submenu please help

Hello,

First of all make sure that you rename the folder "The Sims 3" (in My Documents/Electronic Arts), into anything you like. Then un-install the base game and re-boot the computer.

Re-install the base game then. Afterwards, re-do the steps from 2 to 4 here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly

Start up the game and let us know if that worked !

This has happened to me twice before. Uninstalling and reinstalling has worked for me and the other people who had the same problem Smile

Just a sidenote:

Go to Control Panel >> Uninstall A Program and type "The Sims" in the search box. If you see any expansion packs that is not of their corresponding symbol, but instead of the symbol of "setup". Uninstall them, reboot your pc and reinstall them. This usually solves the problem you are having.
