Question on how to download expansions

Hi, I'm new to download the games so I need a bit of help. I already downloaded The Sims 3 but I have some questions about the expansions. I starting with World Adventures. I confused as to follow the instructions guide that comes with the download or to follow the instructions in the "how to download the sims 3 correctly" thread?? I clicked the setup.exe in the World Adventures folder and it asked me if I wanted to update the game....do I update? Help

I'm sure these are really frustrating questions but I would really appreciate any help!

Hello there,

No worries, I felt the same when I started off with the Sims 3, a while back.

At first, do step #2 (manual patch). Then, if you haven't done it yet, open the "World Adventures" .RAR file with WinRAR, and extract all contents to an empty folder. Now, double-click on "autorun.exe". If you get this "region error", look in the instructions of World Adventures; there should be instructions on how to change the registry, to solve this issue. This is the ONLY thing that is important here (= in the "World Adventures" instructions); otherwise you always follow the instructions in the link I posted above !

You should also install at least one of the following expansions, otherwise, the "Ultimate fix" (the crack) won't work:
Into the Future, Movie Stuff, Island Paradise, University Life, 70s, 80s, & 90s Stuff, Seasons, Supernatural, Diesel Stuff, Katy Perry Sweet Treats, Showtime, Master Suite Stuff, Pets, Town Life Stuff, Generations

Again, extract the expansion(s) into an empty folder (one separate folder for each expansion), run the "autorun.exe", and so on.

After you've installed what you wanted/what you need to get the Ultimate fix working, re-apply the manual patch (even if it says your game is 'updated' already). Just do it again.

Now, do steps #3 and #4 in the "must read-guide" I posted above. That's about the "Ultimate fix".

Normally, there shouldn't be any problem now. Just install the expansions like I explained above (open and extract the .RAR downloads with WinRAR, to an empty folder).

Re-apply the manual patch then. And at the end, re-apply the Ultimate fix. You should be good to go then. Smile

I have another question, on the youtube video for the last step, it says that I need download Origin? Where can I find that?

I used to spend way too much money on expansions and stuff packs before I discovered Games4TheWorld. Now I know I can enjoy everything the game has to offer for free. You've definitely come to the right place bubbles if you love The Sims 3. By the way, you can download Origin here http://www.origin.com/download. Origin is EAs download manager, and is required should you decide to buy and download their games. I don't really use it that much anymore. After I found out you can get the game and all the expansions from Games4TheWorld, I started getting them from this site's torrents. I still keep Origin around just in case I need to uninstall and reinstall the base game and a couple of the expansions I did end up buying.
