Create-a-sim problem :( [CAS crashing] [SOLVED]

Hiiii, 

I downloaded the base game and quite a few expansions from here two days ago everything went smoothly and I applied the ultimate fix, but for some reason whenever I enter create-a-sim I can get about half way through making my sim before it crashes. :(I can play just fine with sims already in the towns or in the move-in folder. & playing, buy mode, and build mode all work perfectly. I have the graphics set to low's and mediums, and the game running in compatibility with my version of windows, so I can't think of any reason why I can't make my own sims. I've been playing with the families already in the towns but it'd be nice to make some of my own, so if anyone knows why or how to fix this problem could you please help me out? Thank ya

Are you playing the game with Mods or Custom Content?  Usually if it is a windows 'specs' or compatibility issue, it wouldn't happen during CAS.  Normally crashing occurs during boot up or actual game-play.  

Please attempt to play the game without any mods or CC to see if that helps.

You should also consider deleting the file CasPartCache.package in C:\Users\(your computer username)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3.

Other than that, I think Sephy has covered most of the points.

 Ahh, this finally worked  thank you so much!!! I wasn't playing with any mods or cc, but I deleted this file and now I finally can!

Fantastic!  My suggestion to you is to clear out your cache after adding mods or custom content (CC) to you game.  Do this before you boot up your game and it will cut down on glitches, lag and even freezing/crashing.
