TS3 and realism - Page 2 Empty TS3 and realism

Post by ☠ ~ Aɳɳ ~ ☠ Sun 24 Jul 2011, 09:59

First topic message reminder :

What do you think could be more realistic about The Sims 3? Aside from the obvious aspects that will likely come with an expansionpack.
I definitely think babies are the most unrealistic in TS3. Any mother or father could tell you that a baby is not going to be content in his/her crib all day, aside from 3 snuggles and a bottle every once in a while. I'm a mom myself and for the past 4 months I've been carrying a baby around almost non-stop. Putting her in her crib when she's not tired is simply not an option lol.
Also, I've been hoping that female sims would have the option to nurse their babies instead of that same 'ol bottle, it should be possible, as I have seen in The Sims medieval. Maybe its a thought for those modders out there. Or there might already even be one available, I should check it out. But I guess that is only important to the "lactation enthusiasts" among us and most simmers wont care (as) much.
Lets discuss, what else could be more realistic?

Not religion, the religious.
The religions I know are about peace, only people use their religion and some passages from their holy book to hide behind when these should be seen in context.

LoL... Yeah it's pretty normal, being friends with your car. And the grey-scale furniture is just cause it hasn't loaded all the way.

Yup I'm getting the grey items as well, it has to do with our low-end pc's.
I've also seen Sims being friends with their car, only, no interactions possible lol.

Yeah.. You can be friends with your car, it's not a bug or anything.. And I believe, Lady, if you have the "Vehicle enthusiast" trait.. It may open up a few interactions, and I think you can become "best friends" with your vehicle

LOL I believe this is Admin's way of saying: Ridicilous.

Its not all that unrealistic, some people love their car more than their partner or friends and name their car.

I just had a though about those politics careers.. How fun would it be to be able to register as a voter, thus opening up a way to follow campaigns and help decide who your new mayor is? I'd want if there were sabotage options too lol..

I like that idea, very clever.

I think your dog, or cat, should be able to attack, or scare off a repo man.

What about you guys?

I think it's pretty darn epic sims can pick up their car, put it in their pocket, or just get out of the car, snap their fingers and *POOF* it's in the garage, and the doors didn't even open!

i liked that in Sims 2 how they actually drove up the driveways to park them.

Lol yeah I was surprised by that too when I first started playing TS3.

Im from a small fishing village in scotland, UK. The only thing we have thats remotely like a gang is the mother and toddler group outings. LOL. Anyway, I hate how in TS3 babies don't get clothes, don't bathe, pretty much they get a cuddle, chucked in the air (which you never do with a new born) fed and a nappy change. My 2 month old god son is never happy with being fed, changed and shoved in a crib, I have to stand and hold him, pacing and tapping his bottom, but putting him in a crib for 80% of the day, oh no he wouldn't accept that lol.

Exactly. I'm a mother of 2 myself, the youngest is 7 months. She wants to play on the floor, play on my lap, grab any body part that sticks out, pull my hair, jump up and down, generally sit on mommy when she's not sleeping or playing lol I could go on and on.

Anyone else think it's BS your pets can't go on vacation with you? How could they put in all this stuff with riding horses around and cats & dogs being able to hunt and find stuff.. Yet they can't travel with you? You can't ride your horse around Egypt? BS! >.< /endrant

You can get around that by using one of Twallans mods the vacationer, it'll also allow babies, toddlers and pregnant sims to travel.

I doubt it, they have updated all of their mods.
I'm not using it myself, I'm still considering which mods to get, I have storyprogression and the error trap but adding too many will slow down my game so I'm still looking to get some mods, but it takes careful consideration.

I would just love to have the basic things in life made more realistic. I want weather, being able to celebrate Christmas etc. I like WA because sims do go on holiday.. But I find Ambitions difficult to play because you need to follow your sim every single second of the day. And having 2 or more sims do those jobs is really annoying. I think Generations is something that could have easily been integrated with the base game because it doesn't add anything special. And those stuff packs are ridiculous.
