Dragon egg. [SOLVED]

Hi,
I've got a problem with my dragon eggs. While I'm playing it says "Your dragon egg is about to hatch!" but nothing happens and YES I have tried everything and I really want to see how they look, and when I try to click on it, it says 0 minutes and I've tried anything that I found.AND YES I DID SEARCH THE FORUMS.

Hello,

Do you mean you have (also) tried the LATEST store fixes ? If not, get them here: http://goo.gl/0Te11K

If you have old store fixes, then make sure to remove all of the old files. Also, after you've put in the new files, go to My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 and delete the file scriptCache.package.

Go into your game, sell the old dragon egg, and buy a new one. See if it helps you - and let us know. Good luck ! Smile

Hi,
You know the thing with TS3 is that I had a HARD time installing it and it took me more than a WEEK and I'm afraid if I delete something it might mess up my whole game so if I delete scriptCache.Package nothing is going to happen to my game right??!?!
because a few days ago I messed up SOOOOOOO bad and I don't want that to happen again. Facepalm

I'm getting a feeling I'm doing something definitely WRONG.

The scriptCache.package is a "cache file" which can be safely deleted. I always delete that, and never got any problems. Wink

I recommend deleting this whenever you put in new mods - or store fixes (technically, they are mods too).

Please try the thing I uploaded on Mediafire (and also skip the "AdFly"-thingy; I can't get rid of it, not even with "goo.gl"). I'm not sure if the new store fixes fix that bug.

Do you need to know how to put in mods ?

If so, scroll down a bit here: http://modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Installing_Sims_3_Package_Files/Setup_and_Files

Scroll down to where it says "Download the ready-made FrameWork Setup.zip". Download and unpack that, and you should get a folder named "Mods". You put that folder into the following location:

My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3.

If you downloaded that Dragon Egg fix thingy, then put it into My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Mods/Packages. Delete the scriptCache.package file and start the game. For THIS problem, use the fix I uploaded on MediaFire. In addition, I also recommend you apply the latest (official) store fixes. Re-read the instructions inside the store fixes; for your ease, I'll just copy & paste them here again:

If you're referring to the .rar file, please go http://rarlabs.com/download.htm and download either:
WinRAR x86 (32 bit) 5.01 Or,
WinRAR x64 (64 bit) 5.01.

That program called WinRAR, will help you to open and extract files from .rar files. Smile

.Rar files are basically folders with a lot (or a little) of files within them, then you use the WinRAR program to compress the file size smaller. So in other words, you can put a whole bunch of files inside a .rar file, compress it with the program, and the .rar file that is made by doing this is smaller.

I clicked on host and image and then I uploaded it and clicked "host it" but nothing happens Crying or Very sad

Unfortunately, you don't want to use that method of hosting it. Smile

What you want to do is:

1. Take the screenshot of whatever it is you want to show us. (Hit PrtSc on your keyboard).
2. Pull up Paint or any program like that... (Photoshop, etc).
3. Hit CTRL+V at the same time to PASTE the image you just screenie'd.
4. Go to File...Save Image...Save the image to your Desktop or anywhere it's easily accessible.
5. Go to TinyPic.com, hit 'Browse' and then select that photo to 'Upload'.

Tinypic will give you a link/URL that you can either post here, or you can click on this Dragon egg. [SOLVED] 242fxbt

icon and insert the URL Tinypic gave you.
I just did that for my picture and it gave me this link to host that image: https://2img.net/h/oi41.tinypic.com/242fxbt.png

Please go to Piratebay and type into the search prompt "WinRAR". Wink

(it's also available from Games4TheWorld).

Download and install WinRAR. Then you should double-click the download (.RAR or .zip-file). If that still doesn't work, right-click on it and look for something like "open with...", and then choose WinRAR. The file should then open in WinRAR.

Then, just drag and drop the "Mods"-folder out, and put it where I told you to.

Did you download the "Mod framework" ? Smile

Either way, you can do that on your own too. Go to My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3. There you just create a NEW folder named Mods. Then go inside it and make a sub-folder called Packages.

Then you go to this link and download the "resource.cfg" file, I uploaded for you...

You put this file into the Mods folder (so NOT the Package one). Let's see if that works better for you Smile

And that's it - you've set up your own "Mod framework"; now you can put in mods and the store fixes.

I created the folder and everything PROPERLY but when I click on the dragoneggfix (WinRAR) it says the file is damaged and stuff like that. Sad

You put that Dragon egg fix file into the following location:

My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Mods/Packages. Then, start the game and play around with the dragon egg - see if it works now. Smile

It didn't work, so far I have tried 3 different fixes from different places and did everything properly BUT none of them work.

Any ideas I really want the dragon soooooo bad!

Do I need to extract it and put it or just put it like how it is right now ??

Hello,

First things first, to understand what you might have done wrong, please check the following list to see if you have done anything different from the list:

1. Create a folder called "Mods" in My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 (SO NOT Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 in Program Files (x86)).
2. Place the file resource.cfg Carlos asked you download in the folder "Mods".
3. Create 2 folders inside Mods:
(1) Packages
(2) Overrides

Have you correctly done the above?

If yes, please do the following:

1. Create a blank folder called "Store fix" in Desktop.
2. Download the latest store fix here: http://www.games4theworlddownloads.org/Downloads/Fixes/Store_Fixes.rar .
3. Open it with WinRAR.
4. Extract (Unrar) the store fix to the folder you just created in Desktop.
5. Copy and paste "ccmerged.package", "StoreFix_DecrapFixes.package", "StoreFix_DecrapFixes_TEMP.package",
"StoreFix_Fixes.package" and "XMLs.package" inside the folder "Store fix" to My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages.
6. Copy and paste "StoreFix_DecrapFixes.package", "StoreFix_DecrapFixes_TEMP.package", "StoreFix_Fixes.package" and
"XMLs.package" from the folder "Store Fix" to My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Overrides.

OK, It doesn't let me unrar anything except the store fixes itself.
it only gives me the choice of compressing or something
An when I double click on them it says that the "file is unknown or damaged" or something like that.
BTW: Sorry about double posting (didn't mean to)

EDIT: I re-downloaded it 3 times and the same things keep happening
