AN UNOFFICIAL GAME MODIFICATION

That's just a theory from me though. I'm not 100% sure if this can work. Another reason for this could be that when you updated the game, you had (outdated) mods in it.

Anyhow, if you haven't used the big "1.66 manual patch" then download it from here: http://akamai.cdn.ea.com/eadownloads/u/f/sims/sims3/patches/TS3_1.66.2.0240xx_update.exe

After downloading just double-click it. Then put in the #crack of the temporary fix. (nothing else !)

I hope this works for you ! If not, you might have to try changing the language of your game to English, or maybe you'll even have to un-install the game(s) again.
