Uninstall issue? [SOLVED]
Hi, I had the sims base game and sims pets installed. It was working fine then started crashing before selecting a plot/home, I decided to uninstall it and start again and re-install it. I've managed to remove the pets expansion but the sims base game still shows up on my control panel remove a program list. This is stopping me from installing as it says I have a newer version and it's already installed?
Thanks

Hello,
To completely remove The Sims 3 from your pc, you will need a registry correction tool called CCleaner: https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner. Please download and install the application first.
You can try double-clicking The Sims 3 on "Remove a Program" list to see if the associated un-installer can be called and un-install The Sims 3. Either way you need to run CCleaner, and do the following:
(1) On the panel, you will find a tab called "Registry". Under "Registry" tab, click on "Scan for issues".
(2) Wait for a while until the scan is finished, click on "Fix selected issues..."
(3) Click "yes" when you are prompted to back up the registry. and "Fix all issues".
(4) If you cannot un-install The Sims 3 via Control Panel, navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts and delete anything you see inside.
(4) Reboot your computer.
Now you should be able to install The Sims 3 again, as well as The Sims 3: Pets. Please keep in mind you must do steps 2 to 4 of this guide to fix any issues regarding disc errors and compatibility issues.
Good luck and let us know if you need any further assistance.
