How do I install sims 3 expansions if I have it for steam?

As the title says. I've tried some of your guides but in the end, or half way through. It says I have to install "The Sims 3" before installing the expansions. 
//EDIT : Just read that it dosen't work if you have downloaded it from origin or steam. So I'll delete my "steam the sims 3". And download yours from the website. I'll report back if it dosen't work.

Yes, while it may be possible to use a cracked base game along with expansions from Steam, I personally don't recommend doing that (for reasons of convenience). Instead, pirate all your games !

Yeah Thanks G, I figured it out. just missed a little thing. I forgot to say yes to get the "EADOWNLOADMANAGER" so I have to do it all again...
Naooww... soon I can tame a rabbit NGEHIHIHIII!

Just to let you know, you can use Origin downloaded games mixed in with pirated. Just Steam has protections and locks their games out from outside expansions or DLC.

Okay, I am new here, and found this when I was doing my duty of searching the community before posting. Here is my problem:
I got the base game from Origin download, but when following the instructions for the pirated expansion, it says to go to the regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SIMS\THE SIMS 3. My problem is, I don't have that. Not sure why, I just don't have the Sims files showing up there.
I have to install to E drive rather than C, but know how to do that in the installation, because I thought that it was due to my digital download being registered through Origin, I removed the base game and went with the pirated version, and still it doesn't show up in the regedit in order to load the expansions. Also, when going to the pirated base game from the origin digital download one, I do not get the code request screen in the set up of the base game. Can someone please help me?
