Service initialization failed (0x039e8474). [CLOSED]

Hey I'm getting this same error.  At first I've just been looking around to see if i could install some expansion packs to the sims but I've wound up stuffing something up and getting this error.
Originally I had a working cracked version of the game and ended up getting this error, so I wound up reinstalling everything but due to my stupidity I'd deleted my instillation file and downloaded the one off game4theworld.org; however upon following the directions for the fix and updating the game, though not with the manual patch, (I've been reading everything on this site to get things working), I get the same error when all of a sudden done, without the game telling me that I have an unofficial game (although it does seem to realize this and tell me causally in the launch screen).
I believe this thread was talking about needing to download from a separate source/use a proper dmg file?  Could anybody link me to one possibly/confirm that this is what I need to find?
Some help would be greatly appreciated, and also I am running this on a mac.

I have the same problem, could you post the link again? The torrent in the link in the mac guide is damaged or doesn't work and the link you posted says its only for administrators ?

I follow the pdf instructions! The link says it's only for administrators. May you repost it?
