service initialization failed 0x039e8474
hello. I've been encountering this service initialization failed 0x039e8474. I tried reinstalling all ep and base game, and made sure that I followed the ultimate fix, the game is also patched to 1.42. Please help me, I don't know what to do now, and I'm tired of reinstalling the game. Thanks!

This is usually caused by one of two things:
- Corrupt user data
- Invalid registry entries
I'll detail each now:
Corrupt user data happens from time to time. Go into your My Documents\Electronic Arts\ folder and rename The Sims 3 to "The Sims 3.bak" (without quotes) and see if it works. If it does not work go ahead and delete the new "The Sims 3" folder and rename the "The Sims 3.bak" back to "The Sims 3", then skip down to the registry section below (look for the bold text). If it does work then we know where the issue is, but your work isn't done.
- Go ahead and delete the new "The Sims 3" folder and rename the "The Sims 3.bak" back to the original. Go into that folder now.
After each of the following steps, return to the My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\ folder.
-Go into the "Saves" folder and see if you have any folders with the
text ".bad" at the end (ie: Moonlight Falls.sims3.bad) - if you do,
delete them.
- Go into CurrentGame.sims3 and delete anything found in there
- Move the "Mods" folder to your desktop temporarily. Try the game and see if it works. If not, keep reading.
- Go into the DCCache folder and delete all files ending with "EBC" and the file named "missingdeps.idx"
- Delete all files with the words "cache" and "package" in the filename (ie: CASPartCache.package)
- Go into Thumbnails and delete all of the files found in there.
If following all of those did not fix your game, then it's best to just start with a fresh folder, so go back to My Documents\Electronic Arts and delete "The Sims 3". You do not need to do the registry stuff mentioned below.
Fixing the registry
Here's a tool I wrote to help with fixing the registry. When you open it, if you find any red boxes that are not greyed out they will need to be fixed. Let me know if you have any issues with it: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t8929-registry-helper

Hello,
I believe this particular one is caused by a corrupted mod. See if it turns up if you (temporarily) remove the Mods folder from Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3.
