Sims 3 1.67 error. [SOLVED]

Well i downloaded the "The.Sims.3.Deluxe.10.2+Store.Rus.Eng.RePack_[R.G.Catalyst]" which basically has all EP and SPs but it is version 1.63 so i downloaded 1.67 off a thread on this website because i couldn't install CC without updating and when i installed the game now says: Unable to start. Please re install base game. I would download the Games4theworld version of Sims 3 but i wanted all the EPs and SPs without having to download them separately and i don't want to re-download the game but it if its necessary ill do it and i don't really want to update i just want to use custom content by using the launcher or something without having to turn it into a package because that makes my game super slow and custom content does not even show up in game. I have looked for my problem almost everywhere and almost all the solutions don't work and i would appreciate it if anyone offers to help.

EDIT: The game did work before i updated and when i use the installer for 1.67 it pops up with an error code at the end of installing saying 0x80040702 dsetup.dll

Where should I start...
There's a problem with those "repack" and "Catalyst" torrents: they are modified and add/edit a lot of Registry values. This messes up the way your PC recognizes the game and it messes up your game.

This has nothing to do with your CC, just back those up and store them in a save place for later. (Same goes for your savegames!!!)

After backing those important files up, remove the modified The Sims 3 version you have, using Your Uninstaller! Pro from www.games4theworld.org . Use the "Super Mode", to remove all leftover files and clean up the Registry too. Restart your PC afterwards.

Finally download and install the non-modified Games4theworld versions of The Sims 3 and its expansions packs. You can find the most up-to-date instructions to get everything to work, here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly
For now you'll have to download all the expansion packs separately, but that shouldn't be a real practical problem, I think.

I uninstalled the repack and downloaded you guy's version and i followed the site on how to install i installed it updated it and got all expansion packs the only thing is that one of the stuff packs (Movie stuff) is like in russian while everything else is in english i know this has to do with the registry because i checked it with regedit. Also if i download sim3packs from thesims3.com how do i get them to install because when i try to install them through the launcher it says installation failed still.

EDIT: Sorry i didnt see your post before but can i just uninstall the Movie stuff pack, remove the registry stuff and reinstall somehow? Also i got the CC to work with CC Magic. Everything else works and the movie stuff pack isnt in russian in game just the installer so really i have no problems now but when I installed the Custom Sim that i got from The Exchange it uses default assets but the guy who made it was using custom mods and the mods dont pop up in game

Well fixed the movie stuff pack so thats a go and for the sim3packs... well heres my problem: If I try to download a custom sim off The Exchange and I try installing it through the launcher it wont work, then I would decrapify it and still wont work. Then I installed CC magic and rebuilt it and I got it to show up ingame but it the sim I downloaded had like custom hair and eyes and the author of the sim said the assets should come in the pack and once you install it it should look exactly the same, but it dosent. I dont know if its because I installed it through CC magic or the author is just lying. But since im no expert I have one question: is this CC magics fault or is the author lying? Btw thanks for all the help so far

Hi there,

You say that you downloaded it from the The Sims 3 Exchange. A lot of those items have somehow become corrupt with newer game patches. That lots of them are not working, is a known problem.

For as far as I know, the only way to "fix" that, is to contact the author and ask them to update their content.
