Sims ONE install problem Empty Sims ONE install problem

Post by Guest Thu 19 Jun 2014, 02:39

Before I start, I am just reassuring that this is SIMS ONE.
NOT THREE.
I can read. lol

I recently assisted a friend in the download of your sims 1 complete collection to replace several of the disks that he had lost over the years or just weren't working anymore. After several failed attempts on his part to install it (to say he's not tech savvy would be polite), I used Team Viewer to attempt the install myself.

The instructions were simple enough (for me anyways) and I was easily able to follow along.

All seemed to go well, however the install will suddenly loose track of the no cd launcher, persisting in its belief that the file doesn't exist despite it being right on the screen where it was a moment before. Even after transferring the crack over, it will insist that we insert a disk to play the game.

Is there a way to repair this? The no disk fail occurs immediately after the install has completed, about the time I expected it to prompt me to register. Once the fail occurs, any attempt to open the game results in a 'please insert cd' error that cannot be closed, even through the task manager. A complete system reboot is the only way we have found to remove it to date.

Thank you for your time.

Hello,

Topic moved to the right section. Please post Sims problems of ALL Sims games in the sections named "The Sims (3)". Or take a look at where you posted this topic originally: do you see any other Sims questions there ? Smile

About the problem...are you sure you pasted the correct file, to the correct place ? And did you also make sure to OVERWRITE the existing file ? Please take the #crack-folder of The Sims 1, and copy the file in it (Sims.exe). Paste the file to C:\Program files(x86)\Maxis\The Sims 1. And you should REPLACE the existing file.

If you still cannot run the game, de-activate the anti-virus completely and re-apply the #crack. Also, if you're runing Windows Vista, 7 or 8, right-click on that Sims.exe in the program files-location I mentioned, and choose "run as Administrator". Plus, in the properties of the Sims.exe, you may try running that file in compatibility mode for Windows XP. Good luck !
