Midnight Hollow giving "game is not up to date" error
I attempted to install Midnight Hollows from this site(SunsetSims) and even after I installed the store item fix from the forum it still gives me the error and refuses to install the sims3pack files.
Also, minor issue I see, the world is being called a object in the launcher, instead of a world, and has no icon(other than the cardboard box). I use all official Sims 3 and Expansion Packs (I have starter pack, Supernatural, Pets, and Ambitions, all official from Origin)

Hello,
You can also get "Midnight Hollow" from Games4TheWorld, here:

The worlds from G4TW should install fine in the launcher. Good luck and keep me posted !

Hello,
You can also get "Midnight Hollow" from Games4TheWorld, here:
*snip because still new member*
At the site, look under "Sims 3" and then "Neighborhoods". As for me I can't seem to access the site now...if it doesn't work for you either, try again later in the day. But the worlds from G4TW should install fine in the launcher. Good luck and keep me posted !
I uninstalled the store content fix after it didn't work, will that affect anything from the G4TW site?

I'm sorry to hear about your problems with the "store fixes", but of course you can leave them out. In that case though I can't guarantee that the worlds and store items will work properly...
To make things even stranger, I never had any issues with the store fixes, and not with the latest ones either.

The fix just didn't work, I wasn't able to install the store content before or after applying it, same error both times.

OK, I see. The thing with the "Installation failed" in your launcher is a very common phenomenon with some store items from other uploaders. The only thing you can try is to "decrapify" the item. For this purpose, look here:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t5933-how-to-decrapify-a-sims3pack-file-and-avoid-the-please-update-game-launcher-error
Download this tool in Lady ElDi's opening post. Apply the procedure described in the instructions, to the .sims3pack item you wish to install. The other alternative is that you use "CC Magic" to install your .sims3packs. Look here:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t15843-how-to-use-cc-magic
If you download the store items from G4TW (see my link in my first reply), then they are "decrapified" already, and should install fine. The store fixes have nothing to do with that issue. The store fixes fix IN-GAME problems with certain items.

Ok, that makes a bit more sense now. The person from SunsetSims directed me to the store fix for the out of date issue, they never said it was only for in game issues.

Yes, the installation of those .sims3pack files and the actual in-game problems related to (some) store items are two different and unrelated problems. For example, common in-game problems with these "premium store items" (like the pizza oven from Monte Vista, the cotton-candy/popcorn machines or the "deep fryer") are...
1) that the sims get reset by the game whenever they try using the items.
2) or they get these "white blocks" when using the items, which looks more like a graphics glitch, but is nevertheless annoying.
All these issues are fixed by the "store fixes". Good luck for now !

Thank you for all your help. I hope I won't need to go through too much trouble in future with this stuff.

Re: Midnight Hollow giving "game is not up to date" error
I've been having issues since I got this installed, first off I can't save anymore after using build or buy modes. it just gets stuck on the saving thing and never actually saving.
Then today after going through my objects to uninstall midnight hollow(because I can't save anyway) I found several "object" midnight hollows and a "object" titanic toy shop. Are these object versions supposed to exist?
I didn't make a new topic because I thought it might have been an issue to do with the same thing that gave me issue as before, but I'm not sure.

Hello again,
The bug with the endless saving is a glitch of the current G4TW store fixes, check out this thread here:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t17462-possible-issues-with-store-fixes
On page 2 of that thread, I have posted new, "temporary" files, that will be uploaded officially, soon. And it's OK, you can stay in this thread here.
And yes, there shouldn't be any problem with the "Midnight Hollow objects" you mentioned...

Re: Midnight Hollow giving "game is not up to date" error
ok, thanks, I thought it might have been something from here since i started having the issue after getting the store fix, but it was also after trying to install the crapified and decrapified midnight hollow, so i wasn't sure.
