Sims freezing after playing for a minute or two. Empty Sims freezing after playing for a minute or two.

This is a tip but I can't post it on the tips section due to privilege setting.

I only have the 70s, 80s, 90s stuff installed. My sims would froze in game whenever there's an error message saying the sims 3 not from the origin at the launcher.

What I did was to disconnect my pc from the internet before starting the launcher and reconnect again after loading. No more freezing! Hope this helps.

Good day to all of you.

Hello JasonSims and welcome,

Thank you for describing this ! Smile  However, freezes usually have other causes than the one you describe. It's not about whether "Origin" or "pirated game", it's usually about computer hardware performance, and any other applications that consume system resources. Also, corrupted mods/CC can cause things like that too.

Thererore, I cannot move this, at this point. Sad  Unless at least one other team member confirms this as suitable for the "tips & tricks" section.

First of all: Go to https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly
And then try these  Wink
Here are some solutions that worked for me:
CFF Explorer
Go to this website: w ww.ntcore.com/exsuite.php
Scroll down and click on "Download The Explorer Suite"
Install it
Open CFF Explorer as Admin (right click and click on open as administrator)
Click on "file" and then click on "open"
Go to your game installation directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin)
Double-click on TS3W
Now click on File Header
Click on "Click here" near "Characteristics"
Tick "App can handle >2g address space"
Now click on file again
Then click on save
DO NOT OVERWRITE THE ORIGINAL FILE. CLICK ON "NO"
MAKE A BACKUP DIRECTORY SOMEWHERE AND PUT THE ORIGINAL FILE IN IT
Now close CFF Explorer
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin
Right click on TS3W and click on send to and then desktop
Now there is a file named The Sims 3 - Shortcut on your desktop
Right click and rename it to "The Sims 3 (No Launcher)"
And now run this file and... ENJOY YOUR GAME!
And If all of that didn't work.
WINDOWS 8 ONLY:
Right click on "The Sims 3 (No Launcher)
Click on properties
Click on "Compatibility"
Click on Run in compatibility mode and choose windows 7
And if it still isn't working
Right click on The Sims 3 (No Launcher)
Click on properties
Click on compatibility
Click on "Run As Administrator"
Click on "Accept"
And then on "OK"
Good luck and i hope that this works for you!
