The game continusly keeps on freezing for few seconds while playing

Hey guys I'm having problems playing the Sims 3, I've got all the expansion pacs. My game freezes for few seconds while playing but some stuff in the game moves like the diamond above the head, rain water etc.
Can anyone help me with this? this is very irritating.

Next, can you tell me a little bit about your computer ? How many GBs of RAM does it have ? And is your Windows a 32-bit or 64-bit version ? Also, is your computer a laptop or desktop ? And what about the graphics card ?
