How to stop notifications?

not a complaint really. I just don't know where to throw this in.
How do i stop notifications (top right corner of the page). I don't mind it when its a thread I'm interested in and/or need feedback from, but the numbers keeps spiking because of certain pages like the "sims4 will be here soon" page. pops up everytime someone comments.

Hello,
You can turn that off in your profile. Go to the "preferences" tab in your profile, there you can turn off "always notify me of replies".

I'd like to add that if you still want to get notifications from the Topics you are interested in you can go to the topics that you don't want notifications from and in the bottom of the page you will see a link saying "Stop watching this topic". This will stop notifications for replies in that specific topic.

That works both ways, you can also stop all notifications, and turn notifications on for a single topic
