Generations read toddler to sleep BUG
Hello
I have a problem with update 1.63.5 which is needed to install the Sims 3 Into the Future expansion pack. When I update my game to this version (or newest for example I'm trying install 1.67 patch) this bug appears:
When I had update 1.57 installed everything was fine but now I want to install latest expansion pack and I can't do it without newest update. Do You have any solution for this?
I already reinstalled it. Now I don't have any packages or sims3pack files installed.

I have the same problem! It's not just the stretching, they're not able to read to sleep at all and the book disappears after they try.
The "talk to" interaction is also missing, event though the toddler has learned to talk and the parents keep getting wishes to chat with the toddler... Is there any solution to these problems?
I wish EA would release a new update and fix a few things... Every time I play the game I notice several bugs and glitches... But since Sims 4 was released I'm not so sure they will release any more updates for The Sims 3
Please tell me that I am wrong...

Hi Mad_Duck,
Do you happen to have any mods installed on your game? If so, please drag and drop them all to your desktop and attempt to reboot your game. See if this helps - if not, no worries.
You didn't mention how you updated your game, however, when installing any of the newest expansion packs, you will have to update the game to the 1.63 patch. If you allow your game to manually update itself, you will run into quite a few issues. Maybe not obvious issues, but you'll run into them soon enough.
First, please backup your save files, as my following instructions are mandatory but can corrupt current save files.
Go here: [ Click! ] and start from step 2, on. This means you need to use the 'Manual Patch' and (re)apply the 'Ultimate Fix'. Once you have done all of this, I'd strongly suggest not opening your game just yet, but also deleting all cache files within the game.
Go to: /My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/.
Once you are in this folder, scroll down. Delete the following files: CASPartCache.package, compositorCache.package, scriptCache.package, simCompositorCache.package.
Note: You want to delete all four of these specific cache files whenever you either add a new neighborhood, download any custom content that will appear in Create a Family (CAS), when you download any mods, etc. It is essential that you clear your game’s cache when anything new is added so that your game will run as smoothly and glitch free as possible. Keep in mind as well, this step also applies if you end up taking away Custom Content (CC) or mods, too. Not all files with the word ‘cache’ in them should be deleted, just the ones listed above.
Once you've deleted the cache files, attempt to run your game (after putting your save file back in the game) and see if that helps.

Hi there!
As this topic was not originally yours, maybe you should create a new topic here:

Sorry, but the organization of the forum is important. As this is a different issue from a different user, it should go in a new topic. We'll be glad to help you after you create a new one.

Sorry for the little off-topic, but now back to this issue.
I've done what you suggested just to be sure, but the bugs still occur. I found a topic on the official forum with the exact same issue, but it's dated 2013 and there is no solution given.

Well, even if your issue is the same as the original poster, you should have created a new topic anyway. This one is more than 6 months old, and never got a reply.
Still, you said you followed all of the suggestions Sephymuffins gave to the original poster? These ones here:

Be sure to re-download and re-apply the Manual Patch and Ultimate Fix. Also, try testing the interaction in a new save in a completely new The Sims 3 folder, by going to Documents\Electronic Arts and renaming (or copying somewhere else, then deleting) the The Sims 3 folder. When you start the game again, a new TS3 folder will be created. In a new save, test the interaction to see if it still gives you problems.
After this, if the problem persists and you want for us to keep helping you, please create a new topic here:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/f11-the-sims-3-in-game-support
as it will be better for the organization. Thank you in advance.
Good luck!
