Ideas for the game Empty Ideas for the game

Post by Guest Thu 18 Sep 2014, 18:04

Sometimes I just can't believe that the game developers couldn't think of some of these, but I honestly hope they will keep releasing updates and improve the game!

Right now I am frustrated about the option to purchase an additional home, but not being able to rent it nor select family members to live in it (for example, a teen just turned to young adult - you want to keep him in the family, but you have tons of other children and there is no space for him anymore). A second go home button or the option to set bed ownership would be pretty handy in that case.

The second thing that bothers me - freaking mermaids... They should be added to the supernatural control cheat because a lot of people keep turning into mermaids and they don't even live in a suitable town...

Then we have: cafés. Right now I am playing Roaring Heights and the town has so many nice places, but they all are extremely boring. People have to make tea themselves like they're at home. Is it so difficult to add a waiter who takes orders? The roller coaster for example is also mostly for decoration... And why are clubs available only in Bridgeport?? I think every town, or most of them, should have at least one bar or club. You can of course place one in edit town or build one yourself, but it's time-consuming if you want it to fit the style of the world you're playing. Hangouts are a good alternative but also kinda boring. As far as I remember I once wanted to throw a party in a hangout and couldn't select it as a destination. Same goes for Starlight Shores, I threw a party on a lot/venue/whatever, and all there was were empty stages because you can't hire performers without using the SimPort and people were bored to death... I then tried to hire a DJ and etc. but they all go straight to my house and not to the party destination...

There are many more things that I noticed, but right now that's all what comes to my mind...

What do you think? Do you have similar ideas?

Hello CinnamonGirl,

As for the clubs/bars, you can actually have them in other towns too. You must go into edit town-mode under "Community lots". There, select a suitable lot and place it somewhere. Edit the lot type to "community lot" and then choose something like "bar/night club".

Now, in some cases, the lot is not immediately "open" after that; in addition, you might have to edit the lot a bit, with the buy/build-mode incorporated in "edit town". For example, you actually have to buy toilets, washbasins, stuff like that. Once all the requirements are fulfilled though, the lot will open up, and if you have a bar, a bartender sim will spawn automatically.

I did that myself, in the "Hidden Springs" neighborhood. Very Happy

Yes, I know, but it's difficult to find a fitting lot. I can't just put a skyscraper anywhere. I guess I need to view the custom content and download a few or create one myself. All I wanted to say it would be easier if they already were in the game to choose. But I guess they can't put clubs and bars in every new world because it is a Late Night feature...

Theoretically yes, I think it should even be possible if you design your own bar.

Not all towns have Equestrian Centers either, for example. Or casinos. It also has to do with the sizes of the worlds; you don't always have that many big lots in each town. Other people might prefer other types of lots than bars, which could be one reason why they made it the way it is: worlds that look a bit "empty", and which you could customize on your own, by putting the lots you want.

Sure, a lot of things in Sims 3 "could be easier and better", but I personally don't/can't lament about it. There are for my needs at least more than enough pragmatic workarounds to smaller things like that. Even if it requires a bit of work.

EA isn't going to do much about TS3 anymore I guess, because of TS4. Rolling Eyes  Guess we all have to live with that.

You're right, but sometimes so many bugs occur that you just start wondering why it is so hard for EA to make a glitch-free game... Then you start imagining what else could've been better and end up creating a topic to lament a bit about it Very Happy

If you don't care much about actually "building" yourself a bar, you can also take one of the (numerous) buildings in the "community lot"-section of edit-town. If you have all expansions installed, there should be some buildings (not necessarily skyscrapers !) that can be used as a bar.

As for me, I even used the "Lucky Simoleon Casino" as a bar. Razz  You can then make smaller changes to the interior of the building yourself.
