Game won't load nor uninstall

Hi!

So just downloaded everything today and unfortunately... it's not working for me. I tried the ultimate fix, the other fix (though the regedit for the whole language thing) .... and remaking sure my computer was up for more abuse (I meet all the spec requirements... barely). Nothing works.

So I was going to do a reinstall... and I got an error when trying to remove. "Could not update the ini file... \Game\Bin\RldOrigin.ini. Verify the file exists...."

So yeah... now I am stuck. I never had Origin installed... is this a good or a bad thing at this point?

So, what exactly was the error that you were getting before?

And how did you try to uninstall The Sims 4?

So it was the "Unable to start: initialization error".... I believe I did all of the work I should've since I was reading other posts with this error... and following the suggestions.

I tried to uninstall thru Control Panel>Programs>Uninstall.
I tried thru another program as well. No go.

I also noticed something else.... while I was digging thru the files... I noticed, after unpacking everything some files were still in zip files.
Example: Sim 4>Game>Bin> Python... it's two zip files "deployed" and "generated". Is that suppose to be like that or should I unpack?

Just a question, do you by any chance have Origin installed? It shouldn't affect the game in any way, but we're still trying to figure out if it has something to do with this.

And yes, the deployed.zip and generated.zip are supposed to be like that. Please don't unpack them. Wink

Nope I never had Origin installed on my desktop. Let me know if I should or not. Smile

Ok... that's fine. I wasn't going to mess with it, unless necessary, until I got a reply anyway.

Hi, try to move or delete your RldOrigin.ini then uninstall the game again. I successfully uninstal ts4 by using those method. Hope it might help.

Hi again!

So, you are still getting the "Unable to start: Initialization Error" message?

If you are, I suppose we could test one thing. Please download Origin to your computer, but just download it, don't log in or anything like that. Then, try running the game again. Keep in mind that we aren't sure if this will work, but it's worth a try. If it doesn't, you can safely uninstall Origin again then. Please, let us know how it goes. Good luck!

I'm going to try to restart the process from the beginning... but I have no more time to mess with it today.

But do you happen to have a (separate) firewall too ? If so, can you try de-activating that firewall too ?

Okay I have two firewalls on my desktop... AVG and then windows. I turned both of them off and added the files to the exception lists... to make it easier I guess.

I will check the chatbox as well... it's kinda late so if I have time I will be sure to do that tomorrow.

Now what I did... to make sure I was following directions okay was to try installing this game on my laptop. I downloaded Sims 4... installed it but I got the error where the exe. file was missing. Downloaded the ultimate fix... followed those directions and as of right now it is running the intro screen just fine while I type this.

My desktop is running Vista while my laptop is running Windows 8. I really want this game running on my desktop so I will do the TeamViewer as suggested.
