Black Screen - After Clicking TS4.exe or Shortcut. [SOLVED] Empty Black Screen - After Clicking TS4.exe or Shortcut. [SOLVED]

Hi,

First, I have installed The Sims 4 and when I tried to run the game, there was an error:

The dynamic library "rld.dll" failed to initialize (E1103)

Then, I applied the Ultimate Fix, and tried to run the game again, this time I can only see a black screen for a very long time, no game intro, no indication that the game is loading. Nothing. Just a black screen. Unable to minimise, unable to use CTRL+ALT+DEL 

Not sure what to do.

Are your graphics drivers up-to-date ? Do you know how to update them ? Smile  

Also, look here:

Right-click on the TS4.exe and go to "Properties". Go to the "Compatibility"-tab and change those settings as shown in my screenshot. The screenshot is actually for Sims 3 (didn't want to make a new screen for TS4, lol), but you should be able to apply it to Sims 4 too.

Good luck for now and do post back, so that we may even try some other things. Smile

In addition, you can also try lowering some graphics settings in the in-game options menu, and even play in "windowed mode". Also, there is this "laptop mode", which you may want to give a try, especially if you're playing a weaker PC/laptop.

Other than that I'm happy to hear that you managed to get the game working now. Therefore I'll close this thread. If you have a follow-up issue to this, PM me so that I can re-open the thread.
