Installing Sims 3 Expansions on Mac Empty Installing Sims 3 Expansions on Mac

Post by Guest Sun 27 Sep 2015, 05:16

Hi there, I have followed all the instructions on everything I can find on here and after a little bit of mac hassle I finally got to the stage where I could install one of the expansion packs I had downloaded. I have the Sims 3 base game, Pets, 70s, 80s & 90s Stuff, and Outdoor Living Stuff all installed from discs already. I downloaded the manual patch from here even though my game was up to date just because I didn't want to deviate from the instructions. However, when I went to instal the Master Suite Stuff pack it came up with the message saying I needed to install the Sims 3 first? Does anyone know why this isn't working? I have been using WineBottler to run the exe files but that shouldn't be the cause of that message? HELP! Sad
Here is a screenshot of the message that pops up.

The mac guide helped heaps! Everything is working fine. There are a few items from a couple of the expansion packs that won't let me use them though? Is this normal?

Hi there, @raisingbait, and welcome to the Games4theworld Forum! Very Happy

I moved your topic to the Mac section.
You should remember that we have a guide for Mac here:
http://www.games4theworlddownloads.org/Downloads/Guides/Sims_3_Mac_Guide.pdf
But for specific help (as you seem to have), you'll have to wait for someone with Mac knowledge to reply. Most likely it will be @Phoebe.

Hello,

Please make sure you are installing your game in the same directory. My advice would be making a file and naming it "Sims 3" and installing every game in this file. In this way, the installer can find other Sims 3 games.

Happy Simming!  The Sims Plumbob 1
