"rld.dll" (E0) problem - NOTHING works for me. [SOLVED] Empty "rld.dll" (E0) problem - NOTHING works for me. [SOLVED]

Okay. So, I am having this E0 error that won't let me initialize the game. I've tried everything that others with the same problem did and solved it, but it seems like nothing will help me. Below are the steps I followed:
- installed the game
- had the other error (E1104), so googled it, found the ultimate fix and followed its instructions (including the anti-virus exclusion list. I have Kaspersky, so I added in the exclusion list the path of the folder "Electroni Arts" and the program TS4 as trusted)
- then appeared the E0 error. I found this link, so I followed your instructions, downloaded the files and made it to install all files but the "arm" one (like the other guy)... nothing changed for me though.
- reread the gamefix pdf and added in Kaspersky exclusion list all the paths you mentioned, just in case it was needed (even though I had checked before Kaspersky's option "Include subfolders")
- then uninstalled and re-installed TheSims4 repeating all the steps above... again E0.
- at that moment I found this guy's post who had Kaspersky and the problem I have and I copied all his exceptions in my Kaspersky list too, but nothing changed.
- added all the other dll files (that exist in the Game\Bin) as exceptions (that the previous guy had not included)... again the error...
- unistalled the game, re-installed it, installed the ultimate fix, installed again (-repaired) the vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe, tried to launch the game... again E0 appears.

* even when I paused protection, or even disabled Kaspersky, the game could not launch
** now I have like 12 objects added in the Kaspersky exclusion list

What is it left for me to do? Really. Please help me and thx a lot for yout time.

Hi there, and welcome to the Games4theworld Forum! Smile

Are you completely sure that you don't have any other security software that may be interfering with the files? Something like Windows Defender, or another program different from Kaspersky. Because even if you add the exclusions to that one, another one may be the one that is causing you problems.

And did you try re-downloading the Ultimate Fix with your antivirus disabled? It may have corrupted the download. But keep in mind that you need to disable every security program temporarily, if you have more than one. Wink

Thank you for your quick response. That's it! It worked. So, it was that my fix was broken. Re-downloaded it, copied it to my game file and everything worked as supposed. I have Kaspersky turned off atm. Does this mean that as soon as I turn it on it will break my files again or now that they are in the exclusion list they will stay untouched?

If you have the exclusion list properly set up, then you shouldn't have any problems after enabling the antivirus again. If you do, then you'll know the problem is caused by that.
